Star World Ode to Mom Contest :

The following are the terms and conditions governing the “Star World Ode to Mom” contest (“Contest”) hosted by Star India Private Limited (“Star India”) for the promotion of the slot “Celebrate Mother’s Day” on Star World SD and HD (“Channel”) on 14th May, 2017.

The contest shall be held on Star World Twitter profile at the URL https://twitter.com/StarWorldIndia (“Twitter Page”) with the @StarWorldIndia handle (“Twitter Handle”) .

The contest invites interested persons from Bangalore, Mumbai, Delhi and Pune to participate in the Contest by tweeting using the hashtag “#OdeToMom” (“Hashtag”) and following all required mandates herein below (“Participant(s))”.

The Contest shall commence on 14th May 2017 11 am onwards, and end at 12:00 am on 15th May 2017 (“Contest Period/Period”).

Principle Rules:
1. To participate in the Contest the Participant(s) shall follow the procedure as detailed below:
a) Participant(s) must be citizens of India and of 18 (eighteen) years of age or above at the start date of the Contest Period. The Participant(s) should not have criminal conviction or an arrangement or a contract that prevents the Participant(s) from participating in the Contest.

b) Employees of and/or consultants of and/or persons hired on contract by Star India and the members of their immediate family are ineligible from participating in the Contest.

c) All Participant(s) must have a valid Twitter account to be eligible to participate in the Contest. For the sake of clarity, it is hereby agreed to and confirmed by the Participant(s) that the same does not include a Twitter account opened and operated by a family member and/or friend of the Participant(s).

d) Process of the Contest:
i. The Participant(s) must be only from the following cities – Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi and Pune;
ii. The Participants would be required to write a tribute to their mother and tweet the same on the Twitter Handle; and
iii. The Participants must use the hashtag #OdeToMom & mention the name of their City (i.e. MUM, DEL, BAN, PUN)

e) For the avoidance of doubt, for the purpose of calculation of the time period taken by the Participant(s) to publish an Entry, Star India shall rely on the time stamp of such Entry. Star India’s decision in this regard shall be final and binding.

f) It is the sole responsibility of the Participant(s) to ensure that the Entry submitted does not infringe the rights of any third party including rights in any intellectual property and shall be original in form. Duplicate Entries and/or two or more identical Entries shall be disqualified from the Contest.

g) The Participant(s) shall ensure that the Entry is decent and is not immoral, defamatory, abusive, offensive, insensitive, libelous or blasphemous to any person, religious sect or section of the society, defamatory of any person deceased or alive, etc.

h) Each Participant shall follow the Twitter Handle. Failure to comply with the same shall render the Participant(s) Entry invalid.
i) Each Entry shall be judged inter alia, on the basis of its relevance to the Contest. The decision of Star India is final and binding in this regard.

2. The Shortlisted Participant(s) will be contacted via Direct Message (“Private Message”) to provide their name, age, email id and phone number (“Contact Details”) to hello@startv.com within 24 hours of such Private Message. In the event any Shortlisted Participant(s) fails to submit their details their Entry shall be invalidated.

3. Upon receipt of the Contact Details, Star India shall contact the Shortlisted Participants via email to submit (including but not limited to) scanned copies of their identity proof, age proof and address proof (eg. Birth Certificate, 10th Class leaving Certificate/ School certificate/ passport/any other valid ID for verification) (“Documents”) within 24 (twenty four) hours of such email.

4. Star India shall make only one (1) attempt to reach the Shortlisted Participants. In case such Shortlisted Participant(s) fails to revert, his/her selection shall be invalidated and Star India shall not be liable to such Shortlisted Participant(s) in any manner whatsoever.

5. Upon verification of the credentials Shortlisted Participant(s) that are in compliance with Terms and Conditions requirements stated herein, shall be contacted via “Direct Message” option on Twitter, informing them that they are the winner(s) (“Winner(s)”).

6. Communication to the Winner(s) shall be done on or before May 25th, 2017 and the prize will be dispatched to the Winner on or before May 31st, 2017. In case the Winner announcement is postponed and/or or dispatch of the prize delayed for whatsoever reasons, Star India will not be held responsible.

7. Ten (10) Winners shall be chosen for each city and each will win a dinner for 4 pax at a Farzi Café restaurant in the respective city. (“Prize”) The Prize to be awarded to each winner shall be decided at the sole discretion of Star India.
