Robot Competition :

We present to you the “FGSI Robot Competition” which is being hosted at Bansal Institute of Science and Technology, Bhopal.

The Competition seeks to promote the development of Robotics in India, raise the performance level of young scientists, offers valuable performance and learning opportunities and thereby increase their technical level. There are attractive awards to the winners and certificates to all participants.

The Competition :
The FGSI ROBOT Competition 2017 is a Championship for self-made, autonomous and mobile robots.

There are six exciting competitions :
** Robot-Fight
** Robot-Air Race
** Robot-Line Racer
** Robot-Humanoid Sprint
** Robot-Collect Racer
** Robot-Creativity Freestyle

The winners in each category will receive cash award of Rs 10,000, medals and certificates.
Every team can have a maximum of two members. A team may register for any one event as described below. A team may enter the same or different robots in different competitions and then the registration charge for each additional event will be Rs 1000 only.

Robot- Fight :
The Robots try to push each other out of the ring. This competition is organized into various weight classes:
a.Micro (Max 5 x 5 cm, b.Mini (Max 10 x 10 cm, >100 g & c.Mega (Max 20 x 20 cm, >1000 g & d.Humanoid (50 x 20cm,
Categories can be redefined /modified based on total participation.

Robot-Air Race :
** Flying robots have to complete figure 8’s around two poles that are several meters apart.
** The robots have to demonstrate their ability to manoeuvre quickly and accurately in three dimensions.
** The robots can be rotary-wing aircrafts (like quadcopters or helicopters), fixed-wing aircrafts, flapping-wing or airship designs.

Robot- Line Racer :
A robot must follow a black line on a white background as quickly as possible. The fastest robots will proceed to the next round. In the enhanced version they must additionally overcome unexpected obstacles on the course.

Robot-Collect Racer :
** This competition calls for special interaction between sensor technology, mechanics and artificial intelligence.
** Here the robots have to collect small discs/blocks on the field according to color.
** Two robots compete against each other on a 250 x 250 cm field.
** The aim is to collect all items of the assigned color and carry them to their home base.
** The first robot to collect all the assigned pucks wins.

Robot-Humanoid Sprint :
** Humanlike robots have to complete a course by walking or running as fast as possible.
** The robots must be two legged and must shift the center of gravity to maintain its balance when walking, i.e. one foot must lift off the floor, while the other foot is balancing the robot.
** The robot, which completes the 200 cm long course fastest, wins.

Robot-Creativity Freestyle :
In this category participants are encouraged to demonstrate their robotic creations, even if they do not fit into one of the other competitions. There cannot be any restrictions on ones creativity and imaginations.

NOTE: All the competition will be valid only if we have minimum of 10 participants in that game/ category.

As long as the concept and fundamentals of the rules are observed, these will be flexible enough to encompass the changes in the number of players and of the contents of matches. The organizers can make modifications as long as they are published prior to the event and are consistently maintained throughout the event.

Liability :
** Participating teams are always responsible for the safety of their robots and are liable for any accidents caused by their team members or their robots.
** The organizers will neither be held responsible nor liable for any incidents and / or accidents caused by participating teams or their equipment.
