National Research Paper Writing Competition :

In our continuum aim of facilitating research skills among building bricks of future legal fraternity we are set to organize the second edition of the Research Paper Writing Competition.

The said competition received an encouraging response in its first edition last year. We graciously solicit participation from your institution for the second edition of the competition this year.

Eligibility Criteria :
The Competition is open to students pursuing LL.B (3 year and 5 year)/LL.M courses from any recognized university across the country.

Theme for the Research Paper : Dynamics of Human Rights in the Changing

World: Perspectives and Prospects
The world has seen an extraordinary proliferation of Human Rights in the 21st century. This brought into being the possibility that states could no longer take a refuge of sovereignty for violations committed against individuals.

The transformative potential of Human Rights is based on the assumption that the civilized world has moved forward in recognition of inherent rights of man. However the challenges for upholding these rights in the contemporary world is enormous.

As the study of human rights constitutes an integral part of law school curriculum, we call upon students and scholars to research and reflect upon the critical issues and challenges which lie in the implementation of human rights.

Submission Guidelines :
** The research paper must be written in English.
** Co-authorship up-to two authors is permitted.
** Only one entry is allowed per-author.
** Only original research papers will be considered for the competition.
** No part of it should have been published earlier nor should it be under consideration for publication else-where.
** Any form of plagiarism will result in disqualification of the research paper.
** The research paper must be of 3000-5000 words (including footnotes).
** The first page of the research paper must contain the details of the author/s, title of the paper and the name of the college/institution.

Important Dates :
Last date for Registration : July 30, 2017
Last date for submission of full paper: August 30, 2017
Announcement of result: Last week of September, 2017

Declaration of result and prizes :
The result shall be declared in the last week of September, 2017. The names of the winners shall be displayed on the college website i.e. vips.edu/vls. The winners shall also be intimated separately.

First prize- Rs. 3000/- and an opportunity for publication.
Second prize: Rs. 2000/-
Third prize: Rs. 1500/-

The winners shall be given the monetary prize as well as the certificates. Best paper will be considered for publication in the Vivekananda Journal of Research bearing ISSN 2319-8702
