Nurture the Excellence in Mathematics Contest:(NEMC)
** Maharashtra State Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education has upgraded the syllabus of Mathamatics for Std. 9th & 10th.
** Students studying Mathematics at secondary level are required to develop the skills of Analytical Thinking & Logical Sequencing.
** So students must get practice to solve challenging problems from Std. 5th onwards.
** Keeping this in the view NEMC Exam for Std. 5th and Std 8th. has been conducted from the year 2011 instead of Ganit Pravinya & Pradnya Examinations, which were conducted by Maharashtra Ganit Adhyapak Mandal.
** Mumbai Ganit Adhyapak Mandal along with Pune Ganit Adhyapak Mandal have decided to conduct the new examination “Nuture the Excellence in Mathematics Contest (NEMC) Level 1 (Ganit Prabhutva Exam) & Level 2 (Ganit Prabhutva Spardha)”.

Eligibility :
** Students of Std. 5th and Std. 8th

Syllabus :
** For Std. 5th : Std. 1st to 4th and upto 1st Semestar of Std. 5th
** For Std. 8th : Std. 5th to 7th and upto 1st Semestar of Std. 8th

Pattern of Exam :
** The exam is conducted at two levels. The First level which is Ganit Prabhutwa Examination is of 100 marks for which three hours are given.
** The papers are assessed by Brihanmumbai and Pune Jilha Ganit Adhyapak Mandal’s members at local level.
** Those students who score minimum 75 marks quality for the Second level.
** The Second level which is Ganit Prabhutwa Spardha is of 100 marks for which two hours are given.
** Both the levels involve subjective type of questions.
** Difficulty level of the questions obviously increases in Second level.
** The Papers are jointly assessed by members of both the associations.

Tentative Schedule :
Level 1 : 3rd Sunday of December every year.
Level 2 : 3rd Sunday of February every year.

Level 2 (Ganit Prabhutva Spardha)

Awards :
To encourage Students, prizes, medals and certificates are awarded, considering the mazimum score in the respective standards.
(1) Students securing at least 80% of the score get a cash prize, a medal and a certificate.
(2) Students securing 50% to 79% of the score get a medal and a certificate.
(3) Students securing 35% to 49% of the score get a certificate.
The individual scores are not declared.
