Eligibility

Any women above 18 years of age (as on July 2015) can apply for Miss Ethnic contest. There is no bar for Age, Height, Marital status or Nationality.

How To Apply?

Registering for Miss Ethnic is a simple, hassle-free, one-step process.
i. Simply visit missethnic.org and fill in the details and you are ready to go.
ii. You can also download Craftsvilla Android app from Google Play Store and register via a link you will find on the app.

Note:
The uploaded image should be a good quality / hi-resolution current photograph. You should be in an Indian ethnic or traditional wear, only. Please note that the entries not meeting these criteria would be rejected. The decision of Craftsvilla team on final selected entries would be binding.

Incorrect and Incomplete information will result in disqualification, whether discovered prior to, during or after participation.

You permit Craftsvilla.com to reproduce your submissions – your photographs, video and other text or media submitted by you or your representative, either by electronic or physical means – on various digital properties, print media and other media linked to Craftsvilla Miss Ethnic Contest, including craftsvilla.com website, mobile app and social media pages.

You understand that the decisions made by Craftsvilla team and the jury will be final and binding. You agree not to solicit votes on your profile using any paid means or try to unduly influence Craftsvilla team and/or the jury in your favour.

The schedule of events and qualification rounds are subject to change at the discretion of the Organiser. The Organiser is not responsible for non-completion / non-occurrence of the event. The courts of Mumbai will have the jurisdiction over all disputes.

Photo Guidelines

** Photo should be solo and individual; not with someone.
** Background must be clear and uncluttered.
** Photo quality must be good.
** Photo should be straight and not tilted or horizontal.
** Photo should only be mid-length or full-length.
** A thumbnail photo would be rejected; ensure the photo is not a small icon. 640 x 480 minimum can be accepted.
** A collage would not be accepted. please upload a single photo.
** Your wear must be Ethnic/traditional only.Photos with T-shirts, jeans, etc. would be rejected straight away.
** Maximum uploaded image size should be 5 MB.
** Photo should not contain any third party details- like photographer.
** Photos with stickers and watermarks would be rejected straight away.

What is Craftsvilla Miss Ethnic?
Craftsvilla Miss Ethnic is an initiative by Craftsvilla.com – World’s largest Ethnic online store – to discover the Ethnic face and talent of India. It’s a celebration of the identity of the woman.

Who can be Craftsvilla Miss Ethnic?
She could be a homemaker who cooks exceptional well; a music teacher or a dancer. She could be a woman who has touched your heart in some way, and even made you proud or humble. Someone representative of our roots, our traditions and ethnicity. She could be you!

What do I get?
Prize monies upto Rs 1 crores stand to be won by the winners. You also get a chance to be crowned by Kareena Kapoor Khan and get recognized as the ethnic diva of billions.

What are the photograph requirements?
i. You should be in an Indian ethnic or traditional wear only.
ii. Full Length of Half Length photo.
iii. The uploaded image should be a good quality / hi-resolution current photograph.

How does it work?
Once your profile is activated, we will post your profile on the Facebook Miss Ethnic page & the details would be mailed to you. You will have to share your profile with your friends & family and garner maximum votes.

Shortlisting for the next round would depend upon a combination of judges’ rating of your profile and your social media buzz.
Kindly note contestants cannot solicit paid votes / likes on their profile. This could lead to disqualification. Please check our terms & conditions

Privacy:
Your profile pic would be made public on Miss Ethnic website as well as posted on Miss Ethnic Facebook page. This contest has a strong social media integration, hence the public post of your profile cannot be avoided.

What if I’m Married and or have kids?
That doesn’t take the ethnicity away from you, does it? Feel free to apply.

What are the various competitions?
There are 4 basic levels : first shortlist, city contest, state & world contest and Miss Ethnic finale. Contestants will be updated on a regular basis on the website. You will be notified and updated regularly by email and text messages.

What if I cannot travel for the contest?
No worries! The entire process is online and you don’t have to travel for anything. However, for the grand finale of Miss Ethnic India, the final shortlisted contestants will be flown to Mumbai in an all expense paid trip. Before that, the entire process is online.

I want to change my details. I have already registered. What to do?
You can log in to your existing account and edit your details there.

Will there be a swimsuit contest?
No.

How will the winners be decided?
Different phases will see winners being judged separately. A consistently important role would be played by the number of the likes and comments on your profile posts on FB. However, we must emphasize, that FB likes is not the only criteria. Craftsvilla team and an esteemed jury would also look at your profile closely.

I am from Ahmedabad but stay in Mumbai. Which city can put my entry in?

Can I cancel my registration? How?
Yes. Send us an email with subject line “Cancel Registration” and “Registration Id”. If you do not have Registration Id, please indicate your name, phone number and city

Can I enter multiple times to improve my chances?
Not recommended as that will diminish your chances of selection.

I registered but my post is not seen.
It’s possible that your profile might not have been activated by the jury. If you do not see an email within 72 hours, you may want to register again & take care to upload your photograph per guidelines provided.

I do not have FB profile
You can WhatsApp, SMS and email the FB link to your friends and family. And ask them to ‘like’ your profile post.

  • Winners and the runner-up of miss ethnic city, will they get the certificates for the miss ethnic contest from craftsvilla or not? Or only the the final will get the prize and money?
