  • Can you please tell a tentative date? We're students we don't really have a lot of time to keep checking websites for results!

  • Please tell a fixed date when the results will be declared. I can't waste my time in searching for the results.

  • Tired of checking results. Are they even going to announce the results or not? They don't even bother to check. If they aren't able to a announce it then shouldn't they even think of informing about it this delay? Quite disappointed.

  • It was declared that the results will be announced on 26th of January and it's 7th of February today. Why so much delay?

  • Should I waste my time searching for results?
    When will it come?
    Waited for long enough.
Is the result so confidential that it cannot be released?

  • Respected sir,
I study in 9 class of Xavier school. Now according to the procedure of judging will there be 25 winners in the 9 class of Xavier school or 25 winners from 9 class of whole city?

    • Good idea. But there will be 25 winners in each category, not class.

A panel of experts will select the top 25 entries in each category.

  • Is there any problem if write more than 200 to 300 words for category 2?
Can we write more than 300 words?

    • They have mentioned a limit of 200-300 words for category 2.
If you exceed this limit by a small margin, it might not be a big problem.
The more you overstep this limit, the bigger risk you are taking, as they have not mentioned why the limit is set.

But personally, I suggest you stick to the limits.

    • This is not explicitly stated, but generally speaking, bilingual essay is not a good practice. But you have to take your own decision.

CBSE conducts an essay writing competition , in English and Hindi, for students in schools located in India and outside the country.

  • I don't understand the title of the essay "A true hero is a unifying force in a diverse society"

  • Can we take some points from the net?
Can we take the help of our grown ups?
Can we frame our own points and views based on the topic?
Please answer these questions, as I have to submit my essay on Monday and today it is already Friday. I would be thankful if you help me.

    • The answers for all your questions is : YES.

You can refer internet, consult elders and even take help from your teachers.
But the essay has to be framed with your own wordings. Your essay will be checked for plagiarism to see if you copied verbatim from any source. So write your own original essay, with reference from internet for facts.

      All the best.

  • I want more information about this topic “WELFARE OF MY SOCIETY DEPENDS ON MY WELL BEING.”

  • I NEED A GOOD & MORE INTERESTING IDEA FILLED ESSAY TO WIN THIS COMPETITION.
    HAVE A GOOD IDEA FIRST.
    THEN A GOOD WRITING SKILL.
THEN YOU NEED BLESSINGS OF GOD ALMIGHTY.

    • The competition will encourage students to:
      a. Find out more about the Indian constitution and its history.
      b. Explore and understand why the constitution is important.
      c. Recognize the two important concepts of government and good leadership.
      d. Learn how the government protects their rights and promotes their welfare.
      e. Learn to analyze the rights and duties of elected leaders and citizens.
      f. Explore the role of the media.

  • To whom the prizes will be given? I mean - is it to the school toppers, or to the national level toppers?

  • I need more information about these topics
"Welfare of my society depends on my well being"
    and
"The Rights and Responsibilities of Citizens"

    • Copying from net is plagiarism. Instead, get ideas from net. Combine it with your experience and write the essay. All the best.

  • I want to participate but I have not IFSC code and also I am not in town. How I will participate?

    • According to this quote, the answer is no. Why don't you get yourself a bank account?

The entries must be accompanied by the duly filled form and undertaking by the School Head along with IFSC code of students.

  • My school had not given information about this. What shall I do? I want to participate in this competition.

  • Please let us intimate which format will be available. I am not having bank account therefore whether my father's IFSC code is applicable?

  • Great idea.
But I hope that the judges would check the internet and disqualify essays that are similar.
A girl did that this year for the constitution day essay writing competition and she won.
    This should not be encouraged.
Who are all participating please don't do this. You are stealing others hard work.

    • Hi Nancy Verma,
I am also very excited and happy because category-3 "THE CHANGES ROLE OF CITIZENSHIP FROM PRE-INDEPENDENCE INDIA TO THE PRESENT" is very interesting.

  • I think that you are giving awards to winners which is good but you should at least give a certificate to each participating students. I hope you will think about it.

  • To whom that cash prizes will be given? To the school toppers or the students who will qualify at the national level !

    • Hi Nikhil Roy,
You can write essay in Hindi or English and you can take help from internet, parents, neighbors and from your relatives also.

    • Yes.

CBSE conducts an essay writing competition , in English and Hindi, for students in schools located in India and outside the country.

    • There is NO mention of NOT taking help from parents, relatives, neighbors, and internet in the prospectus.
So, I would assume - yes, you can get all help you can.

  • My school had chosen only two topics from each category.
Should a school choose only two topics in each category?

    • There is a limitation in number of topics in each category.
The limitation is five topics per category and not two.

The top 05 essays only, in each category, may be sent for the competition by each participating school.

  • Please clear the moral concept of topic i.e changing role of citizenship from pre independent India to present.

  • Can we send this directly without approval from school?
School stamp and signature is needed?
Can we choose any one from the four subjects given for the essay writing?

    • The essay writing competition will be conducted between 10th January to 16th January 2016 in the schools for all students
The entries must be accompanied by the duly filled form and undertaking by the School Head along with IFSC code of students

  • How is the distribution of prizes?
It's said 5 toppers will get awards and certificates and 25 students will get amount money.
    I DID NOT UNDERSTAND.

    • Each school sends only 5 entries maximum in each category. Top 25 entries in each category will get certificate and cash.

      1) The top 05 essays only, in each category, may be sent for the competition by each participating school.
      2) A panel of experts will select the top 25 entries in each category.
Originality of ideas will be given more credit.
      3) Winners will be awarded with a Certificate of Achievement and a cash prize.

  • What is the meaning of the topic - "Discovering hero within myself"?
Please tell me. Then only I have to prepare my topic also.
One more query. Can we take some help from internet?

  • What I can interpret is that a student can learn the content at home with the help of internet /parents and write it in school on a prescribed date. So where is the originality of idea which you are going to check? It is plagiarism encouraging exercise!

    • It looks like a open competition to all CBSE schools, though the word CBSE is missing.
