What is Space Kidz Young Scientist India?

Young Scientist India YSI is organized by Space Kidz India. This is the 10th edition of YSI. Young Scientist India is an innovation competition to promote science awareness among high school students, to increase their understanding of science, and to attract them into scientific careers and explore, as there is a BIG VACUUM in the enrolment of young scientists in our research centers. The competition is split into 4 categories – App development, Electronics, Robotics, and Space Sciences where GOVERNMENT SCHOOL STUDENTS FROM INDIA alone can register and send their project abstracts online.

Competition Highlights of Young Scientist India

Young Scientist India 23-24 competition showcases the best projects and innovations of high school students in the field of science, technology, engineering, and math. The competition provides an opportunity for students to gain recognition for their work and inspire others to follow in their footsteps.

Eligibility of Young Scientist India

Students from Class/Grade: 8th – 12th enrolled in Government schools across India Eminent jury from all across the globe came together to carefully select the best projects

Prizes of Young Scientist India

** One WINNER each from Private schools and Government schools were chosen separately and Rs.50,000/- Cash Prize was awarded.
** 1st RUNNER UP won cash prizes of Rs.30,000/- each. (1 from private and 1 from the Government School)
** 2nd Runner Up won cash prize of 15,000 each. (1 from private and 1 from the Government School)
** Consolation prizes of Rs.1000/- cash prizes each for 22 students from Government and Private school categories
** Certificates to all the participants reaching round 2 of the competition.

Judging Criteria of Young Scientist India

The Challenge was judged by experts in design and technology including carefully selected academics with expertise on various challenge topics.

Challenge Timeline of Young Scientist India

PHASE I: NOVEMBER 1 2023 TO JANUARY 30, 2024
PHASE II: FEBRUARY 2024 TO MAY 2024
During Phase II, finalists will have to present their innovations to the jury. The best presentations will be awarded cash prizes and certificates.

What does the Young Sciensopreneur journey look like?
Throughout the year, you and your team will follow a step-by-step entrepreneurial process to develop an innovative solution for a significant problem. The 2023-2024 competition consists of four stages:
1. Ignition Stage
Assemble your team and complete registration.

2. Actuation Stage
Brainstorm ideas and develop Business model for potential solutions.
Choose the most promising idea and finalize the innovation’s name and category.

3. Acceleration Stage
Craft an Innovation Brief and create an Innovation Video to showcase your progress.
If applicable to your category, develop a website to present your innovation.

4. Finale – Liftoff
If selected as a Finalist, attend the Innovation Summit Online.
Prepare a Power Pitch and present your innovation to a panel of judges.
Compete for top honors and recognition as a winner of the YSI.

Throughout the competition, teams will compete for rewards and recognition. Exceptional teams will be recognized as YSI, and the top teams will be named Winners. Please check the official website of the YSI for the most up-to-date information and deadlines.

Can I join the YSI Challenge?
If you’re a student between the ages of 13 and 18, you are eligible to join. You must participate as a member of a team of 2-3 students. You and your teammates may compete from any corner of the globe. You can form a team with schoolmates, siblings, camp friends, or any other eligible students you know. If you’ve competed in a previous year, you may compete again as long as you still meet the age criteria and other requirements.
