What is Sony Alpha 1 Minute of Magic Contest?

Creative videography is about telling powerful stories through visuals in just one minute. Sony Alpha Community presents One Minute of Magic – Season 2, a storytelling contest inviting creators to showcase their talent across Fiction, Non-Fiction, and Student categories. Create a compelling story using any equipment and let your creativity shine. The Contest is organized and conducted by Sony India Private Limited. Last date of contest is 9th May 2026.

Eligibility of Sony Alpha 1 Minute of Magic Contest

The Sony Alpha 1 Minute of Magic Contest is open only to Indian citizens residing in India who are aged 18 years or above as on the date of participation. The competition is open to all professional and amateur filmmakers residing in India, regardless of gender. Entrants must be 18 years or older. The competition is free to enter, and participants can use any type of filming equipment.

The following are not eligible to participate:
** Employees of Sony India and its affiliates, subsidiaries, representatives, and their immediate family members;
** Non-Resident Indians (NRIs);
** Foreign nationals residing in India.

Sony India reserves the right to verify eligibility and request proof of identity and residence.

How To Enter in the Sony Alpha 1 Minute of Magic Contest?

The Contest shall be hosted on the Alpha Community website during the Contest Period (both dates inclusive).

Entry Limit:
** Only one (1) entry per Participant (including group entries) shall be permitted.

Participation Conditions:
1.By participating, each Participant agrees:
** To be bound by these Terms & Conditions and the decisions of Sony India, which shall be final and binding;
** That they meet all eligibility requirements;
** To comply with all applicable central, state, and local laws in India.
2.Participation in the Contest is free of cost.

Group Entries:
** Entries may be submitted individually or as a group.
** Entry must be made in the name of one representative.
** Any prize, if awarded, shall be given only to the named representative.
** Sony India shall not be responsible for internal disputes among collaborators.

Submission Specifications:
** Participants must upload original high-resolution audio-visual work (“Content”) as per the following:
** Format: MOV or MP4
** Maximum Size: 500 MB
** Duration: Minimum 20 seconds and maximum 60 seconds (including credits)
** Language: English; if any other language is used, English subtitles are mandatory
** Equipment: No restriction
** 360° Videos: Must not rely on special playback applications
** Description: Story behind the work (maximum 200 characters)
** Sony India may request high-resolution files from shortlisted Participants.

Instagram Requirement:
** Participants must follow Sony India’s official Instagram page at: https://www.instagram.com/profilmmakingbysony_india/
** This Contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Instagram.

Student Category:
** Participants entering under the student category must provide valid college identification if shortlisted.
