Frequently Asked Question about Results:
1. Why do students of the same class with similar total marks have different National Ranks?:
When more than one student gets an equal top score, priority for awarding ranks will be according to marks acquired in the following specified order of subjects: Mathematics (Biology for PCB group), physics, chemistry, biology and General Questions.

2. What is “**” in Rank column?:
“**” in the rank column indicates that the student got a rank below 500 and is selected for 2nd level of NSTSE-2016. We do not declare the ranks for those students who got selected for 2nd level. We declare the ranks after the second level of exam for those students.

3. Selection Criteria:
2nd Level for the Top-500 students (Class 2-12) across the nation and Top-20 students from each state from each class will be conducted in the nearest selected State Head Quarters/Main Towns. For Class-1 students NSTSE is a single level exam.

4. What does “- -” in Rank column mean?:
The marks of a student who gets less than 30 percentage of marks is shown with “—-“.

5. When is the second level of the exam and what are its timings?:
Second level of National Level Science Talent Search Examination (NSTSE) is on 31-01-2016 (Sunday) Timings 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

6. Selected for 2nd Level examination of NSTSE-2016. Kindly let me know the venue & admit card for 2nd level?:
We will dispatch the Admit Cards to your school address. Those who do not receive the admit card by 18th January, can directly download the same from our website from 22-01-2016 by entering the admit card number, of the 1st level exam.

7. What is the syllabus for 2nd level of exam?:
The examination pattern is the same as the first level of exam with respect to the syllabus, total no. of questions and marks.

8. When do the students selected for 2nd level of NSTSE get their rank in the 1st level of the exam?:
The students who are selected for the second level will not get the All India Rank in the first level. They will receive their All India Rank after the second level exam.

9. We appeared for NSTSE. Will I get the certificate?:
We will send the Participation Certificate & SPR to your school address. Those who selected for the 2nd level of NSTSE-2016 will get the certificate after 2nd level exam.
