The first round would be an online singing competition throughout India and the top 10 participants will directly qualify to the final round of Symphony Idol 2016.

How To Participate :

** Enroll for the contest by filling up the registration form
** Upload a copy of your recording in the acceptable file formats given below and give us a flavour of your singing
** All participants get a score and feedback from renowned experts in the field of music

Grand winner of the contest gets:
** A chance to interact and sing to Shankar Mahadevan,
** An instructor-led course from SMA worth 8999 INR
** A certificate with Shankar’s Signature.

1st runner up gets:
** A self-study course from SMA, “HMS Super pack” worth 4999 INR
** A certificate with Shankar’s Signature.

2nd runner up gets:
** A self-study course from SMA, “HMS Super pack” worth 2999 INR
** A certificate with Shankar’s Signature.
** Top 10 participants will get a certificate with Shankar’s signature

Contest Highlights:

** Audition Start Date: 18th January, 2016
** Audition & Submission End Date: 09th February, 2016, 3 PM IST
** Audition Results: 15th February, 2016
** Participant can sing a song in any of the Indian languages and it can be a movie song, an album song or his/her original composition.
** The audition serves as a gateway to reach the Finale of “Symphony Idol 2016”. Participants selected in the audition will move into the finals to be held in KJ Somaiya College of Engineering between 25th and 27th of February, 2016. The final dates would be communicated to the finalists by the college.
** Results of the contest will be communicated by email and phone to winners by 15th of February, 2016.
** Song will be assessed on 10 parameters and a score will be awarded out of total 100 points.
** Participants will receive a recorded audio feedback from expert teachers with recommendations on areas of improvement.

Terms & Conditions:
** Participant should be a college student or a college pass-out and he/she must not be more than 30 years old. (In any case of suspicion, the participant may be asked to show his/her age proof)
** The maximum duration of the rendition should not exceed 6 minutes.
** File size should not exceed 15MB
** Acceptable file format: mp3, m4a, wma, amr, wav
** You can upload/record only a single rendition of your song for feedback. Please ensure that you upload the correct file. No requests for changing the file that is submitted initially will be entertained.
** Each submission gives you access to feedback for one rendition only. Multiple songs will be considered as separate entries and the contest enrollment fees will be per entry.
** The academy is not liable for refund the cost of expert feedback once payment has been made.
** Any complaints related to the feedback will be addressed according to the discretion of the Academy.
** Shortlisted contestants must bring the karaoke track of their song in mp3 format for the finale.
** The decision of the winner will be done on the basis of final performance in KJ Somaiya College of Engineering campus.
** The uploaded content will not be returned to the student and will be archived. The Academy reserves the right to use the rendition as it deems fit.
** Anybody from anywhere in the world can apply. The Academy will not be liable for any travel, travel related issues or damages arising out of travel

3. Singing in pitch – 10
4. Singing in tune – 10
5. Maintaining Rhythm -10
6. Pronunciation of lyrics -10
7. Mood and Expression -10
8. Breath control – 10
9. Creativity – Improvisation -10
10. Overall impact – winning component – 10
