Marathi Short Film Contest :

** The film (the term ‘film’ also includes the supporting details and metadata, wherever applicable) shall be between 3 & 15 minutes in duration.

** Films exceeding this time limit may be rejected. We recommend keeping the credits at the end of the film.
** The films may be in their original language but MUST be subtitled in ENGLISH.
** We recommend subtitles be submitted in .srt format as far as possible and submit to us along with your film.
** Films submitted previously to other competitions or used for other purposes will not be considered for this contest.
** The films may be shot in any format. However, the recommended ratios are: 16:9 / 16:9 Full Height Anamorphic – in DV / HDV.
** The recommended video files formats are VOB, MPG, MPEG4 or AVI.

In making your Film, you must have :
(1) obtained appropriate releases for every person who appears recognizably in your Film;
(2) obtain appropriate releases for those locations that appear recognizably in your film and require releases;
(3) obtained appropriate releases from producers, right-holders and/or co-producers You will retain any such releases and provide them to the organisers upon request.

The Film must not contain any copyrighted work(s) belonging to third parties unless
(1) you have a license to use such works in the Film; or
(2) the use your Film makes of such works is a fair one under the copyright laws. You will retain any licenses and provide them to organisers upon request.

The participant grants the Organisers (7racecoursefilms and Lokmat Media) the limited exclusive rights to screen (non – commercial) their film on their respective websites, at festivals and other associated screenings for the period of 3 years from the last date of submission, for which they are not entitled to any fee or consideration of any kind whatsoever.

The Participant also grants the Organisers the right to use their name, image, voice, likeness, statements, background in connection with the contest or ensuing events.

** Login & Upload your short film along with English subtitles
** Spread the word on social media & get people to vote. That’s IT!.

If for some reason you are unable to upload the video,you can register on our website and send a CD/DVD with your short film,subtitles and web registration details to our office in Mumbai.

Requirements :
** Open to residents of India and PIO
** The primary language of the short film has to be Marathi
** 3-15 mins (max. video size 2GB) long short film in any of the prevalent video formats like mpeg, avi etc.
** English language subtitles (.SRT file). There are many YouTube videos that show how to make a SRT files using NOTEPAD for free

Choose the relevant categories/genres for your short film
1. Comedy
2. Drama/Mystery
3. Miscellaneous

Evidence of copyright infringement or previous commercial usage of material will automatically make the entry void

Criteria for winning :
** No. of votes garnered by the video on the platform. So go ahead and spread the word through your networks
** Jury selection. Though popular videos will be considered, final winners will be awarded after a jury round
** Jury will include the best in the Marathi film industry.
