Manhattan Short 2015:
Who Can Apply:
The Participant should be over 18 years of age as on 31st May 2015.

Persons working for Manhattan Short, Vivanta by Taj and companies associated with this film festival are not allowed to participate in this competition.

What We Want:
Manhattan Short 2015 in India calls for short film entries of maximum 18 minutes in length from filmmakers across India in any language to participate in MANHATTAN SHORT 2015. The festival will allow for 1 to 2 minutes leeway to suit the filmmaker’s vision.

All genres accepted. Films should have been produced in the last two years. A filmmaker can submit multiple films but each film will be entered as a separate entry with separate entry fee.

Filmmakers MUST submit one version of the film with English subtitles as well as ONE CLEAN version (No Subtitles).

Procedure for entry:
** Fill the ‘Entry Form’ & send us your screener through the options provided to you on this page and click ‘Submit’.
** Pay the entry fee. Entry fee is Rs 2250. Without payment of entry fee, we will not be able to accept entries. Fee can be paid through wire transfer or DD payable in Mumbai.

Note:
** The earlier you submit your film, the better chance of it making it to the global finalist list. Please send in your screeners to Manhattan Short in India as soon as possible.
** If your film has been selected as a finalist, we will ask you to send in the film in Apple Prores HQ Quicktime file with a frame rate of (23.98) on a portable hard drive. From this file, the Festival produces DCPs and Blu Rays. We will let you know if your film has been selected as a finalist and at this time you will have to physically mail your film in above mentioned format to New York.
** Please have press kits, translations and stills including a still of the director on hand and ready to send it to us ASAP, should your film be selected. As over 400 media outlets around the world request stills, images must be 300 dpi and saved as tiff or jpeg files.
** A pre-selection jury will choose the ten Indian films that will be open for public voting on this website. This is part of the ‘Vote for India’ initiative by Manhattan Short 2015 in India and its Chief Patron Vivanta by Taj. India chapter winners and finalists need not be on the MANHATTAN SHORT global ten finalist list and vice versa.
** Top three films will win a film contract each with Vivanta by Taj. One filmmaker will win a ticket to attend the Manhattan Short in New York (only ticket will be provided by Manhattan Short Film Festival India; visa and stay in New York will be responsibility of winner). Other consolation prizes will be offered as well.
** Submitted films must be the filmmaker’s original work, with necessary copyrights/ permissions obtained for all content used. MANHATTAN SHORT film festival India and MANHATTAN SHORT global will not be responsible for infringements in an entrant’s film.

Prizes:
** Top three films will win a film contract each with Vivanta by Taj.
** One filmmaker will win a ticket to attend the Manhattan Short in New York (only ticket will be provided by Manhattan Short Film Festival India; visa and stay in New York will be responsibility of winner).
** Other consolation prizes will be offered as well.
** All participants are offered a distribution deal through Pocket Films (subject to terms and conditions)
