TechNgage :

The NASSCOM IT Services Council (NITSC) launches TechNgage, an annual initiative to further enhance technology skills available within the country by providing a platform to recognize highly skilled people. TechNgage aims to celebrate technology in order to transform lives by identifying the top Technologists in the country through this event on the theme of Smart Cities to enhance the quality of services in respective domains.

The event is open to all technologists and the winners will be awarded as NASSCOM Technology Fellows and NASSCOM Technology Explorer.

Rules :
** This is a team participation hackathon. You can have at most 2 members in your team.
** You can either invite your friends to form a team or you can request other teams to add you as a member.
** The hackathon will start at 01-03-2016 10:00 AM and end at 30-04-2016 11:55 PM, you work on your hack during the allotted time only.
** It’s an online hackathon, you can participate from anywhere.
** There are 7 themes of the hackathon, you must submit a hack that is in one of these themes.
** Once the hackathon starts, you will get an option to submit your hack, you can submit as many times as you want, the last hack will be considered as the final submission.
** You are expected to come up with new and innovative ideas, any idea that has been copied from somewhere will be disqualified.
** Your hack must be developed entirely during the Hackathon duration. You may use open source libraries and other freely available systems / services such as Google Maps, Facebook Connect, Twitter feeds etc.
** The intellectual property of your code belongs only to your team.
** By participating in the hackathon, you agree to the terms and conditions of HackerEarth.

FAQs:
Is there any fee to register for TechNgage?:
There is no fee for participation in TechNgage. Participation is free and open to all.

Do we need to have the entire idea fully working?:
The entire idea need not be fully working. However, the submission should be functional & some components should be demonstrable so that it can be reviewed by the judges for implementation feasibility.

What happens in Round 1?:
Round 1 will be an Online competition, where participants are expected to build a PoC (Proof of Concept) in line with the themes of the challenge and submit their entry for evaluation.

What happens in Round 2?:
Round 2 will be an Offline Phase where shortlisted participants will be invited for a 24-Hours offline challenge across 6 cities. During Round 2, shortlisted candidates are expected to create a working prototype of the idea they submitted in Round 1. The prototype developed in Round 2 should be as outlined in the Round 1 submission.

How is the environment? Will your environment support any language? Will you provide any IDE and DB for us to work on ideas?:
You have to develop the entire software application on your local system and submit it on HackerEarth in tar/zip file format along with instructions to run the application and source code.

Does one have to be online and available for the entire duration of the Challenge?:
No, one does not need to be logged in on HackerEarth or be online for the entire duration. You can develop the POC on your local system based on the themes & submit it on HackerEarth, on the specific TechNgage page.

Since there is no specific technology mentioned, are there any restrictions on using a number of pre-built libraries?:
There are no restrictions on language, technology stack, or libraries. You can use any of these to create the web/mobile application.

    Can we be a part of team (2) and submit multiple ideas (separate themes)?

      A team can be of maximum 2 people, where you have to identify a leader and only the leader will represent the team from Round 3 onwards.
