1st India Open Latin & Ballroom DanceSport championships :

“Shan & Ragz’s Indian DanceSport Council” in association with DSAM announces its 1st Annual India Open Championship 2016- 18th June, 2016 at the Experimental Theatre, NCPA, Nariman Point, Mumbai.

**  The Competition will comprise of Dance Forms like Latin – Cha Cha, Rumba, Jive & Samba along with Ballroom – Waltz, Tango & Viennese Waltz, Quickstep. Other Categories will include Salsa, Argentine Tango & Bachata making it a treat for all dance lovers.

**  Couples from leading dance institutes across India are invited to compete in these dance forms at the championship. There is a special SOLO and GROUP category in the championship.

**  In the past State level competition held by the founder members over 150 Couples competed with each other and was witnessed by an audience of 1000+ people, thus making it a non-crowded elite and classy event with an aim to entertain people across all age groups & genres.

**  With the company making it to the India level we will see an event reaching newer levels of entertainment.

The Events are:
** Latin American Championships
** Standard Ballroom Competition
** Bachata & Argentine Tango Open Competition
** Salsa Open Competition
** Solo
** Group Championships
** Show Dance Competition.

Prizes :
**  Trophies / Medals / Certificates / Vouchers for all winners
**  Participation Certificates for all competitors

**  Medalist Categories are encouraged in order to increase the knowledge of the participants with respect to correct movements and techniques standardized for this sport and to discourage incorrect demonstration of the dance forms.

**  Medalist Categories at this competition will allow figures limited to the said level of IDC Syllabus. Figures more advance than the mentioned level shall not be marked in the judgement.

Rules & Regulations :

The rules and regulations are as below. All participants are requested to kindly abide by them
** Couples are requested to consult their dance teachers for selection of categories. Participants who belong to Intermediate or Advance categories will be disqualified if entered a Beginner Category. This will be the Adjudicators & Organizers decision.
** Change of partner not allowed in the same dance category. However change of partner is allowed in case of a different dance form or event.
** All competitors must be dressed in the appropriate costumes & shoes.
** All competitors must attend the rehearsals requested by the organizers and be present on time for all their events to avoid disqualification.
** The organizer will not accept any liabilities, any claims for injuries, damage or loss suffered by the competitors
** This championship is a public event and the print and electronic media may be invited. The organizer will not be responsible for any material appearing in any medium as part of the post publicity.
** Video filming of any part or of the entire championship will not be allowed. Video cameras will not be allowed at the venue.
** The organizer reserves the right to change the programme of the event without any prior notice.
** The adjudicator’s decision will be final and no correspondence will be entertained.
** Each participant must be a member of DanceSport Association of Maharashtra or their respective State Associations if established currently.
** All persons attending this championship whether as spectators, competitors, guests, judges shall be bound by the rules of the event and by participating automatically become obliged to adhere to them.
** The Organizers hold the right to change rules as per situational requirements without any prior notice.
** Limited Entries on first come first serve basis only.
** The Salsa Open, Social dance and Latin Showdown Events are Non-WDSF categories.
** Gold medal winners from previous Maharashtra Championships, national & international competitions shall not be allowed to repeat their winning category.
** All rules for the medallist categories will be are as per the DSAM syllabus.
