Aspirants for the Miss Himalaya Pageant 2016 can apply online now. The application form is online, and the last date to apply is 31 July. The Pageant will be held from 8 to 9 October in McLeod Ganj, India.

We welcome women from the entire Indian Himalayan Region (IHR), which spreads throughout ten states:
** Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura, as well as the hill regions of Assam and West Bengal. Young women from Bhutan, Nepal, and Tibet are also welcome to participate in the Pageant.

** Over the years the Pageant has provided a unique platform for young women from the entire Himalayan region to show their talents and their culture.The winner will receive a prize of one lakh rupees (100,000), the first runner-up 50,000, and the second runner-up 25,000 rupees.

Criteria to compete in the Miss Himalaya Pageant:
** Applicants should be born to parents of Himalayan cultural background.
** Between 17 and 25 years of age.
** Minimum 165 cm in height.
** Unmarried and not having given birth.
** Entry fee: An entry fee is required as a sign of good faith — Rs. 500 (India, Nepal, Bhutan)
** Your application will not be considered until receipt of your entry fee, which must be sent by bank transfer and received by us before 15 August 2016.
** Participants will bear their own travelling expenses to and from McLeod Ganj. Food, accommodation and local travel in McLeod Ganj will be provided by Miss Himalaya Pageant.

Terms and conditions :
** I understand the pageant I am entering is Miss Himalaya Pageant 2016, which is only for young ladies from the Himalayan region. The event is organised to celebrate the beautiful cultures, people, and nature of the Himalayan region. Documentation to prove my ethnic Himalayan background must be submitted along with the online application form.

** I understand this event is for women between the ages of 17 and 25 years of age, in the states of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, and Arunachal Pradesh in India; and Nepal, Bhutan, and Tibet. Documentation showing date of birth must be submitted along with the online application form.

** The required height for participation is minimum 165 cm and maximum 176 cm. I understand that the winner will be given a cheque of Rs 100,000.00, the first runner-up Rs 50,000.00 and the second runner-up a cheque of Rs 25,000.00. Delegates will be responsible for paying any taxes, if applicable, on any prizes.

** I understand that participation in any events or offers such as modelling, acting, advertisement, public appearances; whether paid or unpaid, should all be carried out in consultation with the director of the pageant for a year from day of crowning. Lobsang Wangyal Productions shall be responsible for collecting fees for each completed contract.

** I accept that Miss Himalaya Pageant manage and use my image and contents in interviews and the application form and the materials to be reproduced, modified, adapted, published, translated, create derivative works of and distribute such materials or incorporate such materials into any form, medium, or technology now known or later developed.

** I understand that Miss Himalaya Pageant is a beauty and talent competition. With that in mind I commit to be in good physical shape. In the case of not being in good shape for the event, the Miss Himalaya Pageant Director and Producer has the right to disqualify the participant at any time during the competition.
