DJ Memorial Photography Contest :

Lakshmi Machine Works Limited (LMW) is sponsoring and organising the DJ Memorial Photography Contest (DJMPC) as an annual competitive event to identify, recognise and honour talent in photography.

DJMPC was instituted by LMW in memory of its past Chairman and Managing Director, Dr.D.Jayavarthanavelu (DJ). The event is being held to remember and celebrate the immense passion that Dr DJ had for photography.

Terms and Conditions:
** All contest entries (photographs) should have been taken in India.
** The contest is open under the Category “NATURE” (All images from Nature).
** Images from Nature means untamed Mammals, Birds, Insects, Plants in Natural habitat, Landscape without human influence/ interference.
** Photographs of Birds & Animals that are domesticated, caged or under any form of restraint, as well as Photographs of cultivated plants, hybrid plants are not eligible.
** Original photograph (any medium) must have been shot by the Photographer registering for the contest.
** Manipulation or Modification of the original image is limited to minor retouching of blemishes and must not alter the content of the original scene.
** Four images can be uploaded by an individual participant.
** Submission forthe contest should be made only through the online portal wvvw.djmpc.in
** All relevant particulars as asked for in the ON-LINE portal have to be filled in.
** All contesting Photographs should be in JPEG format and sRGB colour space only, with a maximum file size of 2.5 MB and should be of 1400 to 1600 pixels (longer side).
** All entries should have a TITLE. Entries without a title will not be accepted. “UNTITLED” is not a valid title. The location of the shoot is to be specified.
** Photographs submitted during previous editions of DJMPC can be re-submitted. Award and certificate winning entries from the previous editions of DJMPC cannot be re-submitted.
** Only mode of communication is Email. Hence please mention your current and valid email id while registering.
** Even though the copyright of the photographs submitted for the contest remains with the photographer, LMW/DJMPC reserve the right to use the photographs submitted to DJMPC for non-commercial promotional purposes.
** Due acknowledgment of the photographers name will be provided at the time of use.
** By participating in this event, it is construed that all participants hereby give their concurrence for use of their photograph by DJMPC./LMW.
** If, there is dispute of any kind, the decision of the jury will be final and binding on all concerned. All disputes will be subject to Coimbatore jurisdiction.
** If any of the images reach the final round, the original raw file/negative/slide will have to be sent to the DJMPC jury for verification, failing which the short listed image will be disqualified from the contest.

Event Calender:
** Contest is open 1st April 16 and closes on the 30th June.
** Judging 1-3 July.
** Award distribution and exhibition opens on the 30th July.
** We will send a PDF catalog.

Cash awards (Total: Rs. 7.25 Lakhs)
** 1st Prize is Rs. 3.00 Lakh.
** 2st Prize is Rs. 2.25 Lakh.
** 3rd Prize is Rs. 1.50 Lakh.
** 5 Merit Awards of Rs. 10,000 each.
