The competition is instituted by HOSMAC as knowledge partner to the exhibition and conference.

Program:
** Delivery of healthcare services requires not only the medical specialists but also all the complementary facilities including medical equipment, space planning and other services;
** The absence and non-functionality of one or more of the complementary inputs affect the quality of services, which are vital for healing;
** Toilets, circulation spaces and open spaces should be judiciously designed which should comprise minimum of 200 Sq.M;
** Rainwater harvesting, solar power, biogas plant etc. can be integrated if required;
** Minimum built up area of CHC has to be 1000 Sq. M;
** The area statements have been provided only to get a sense of volume and overall footprint of the CHC for this competition;
** The spatial typologies of the mentioned programs can be critically redesigned to meet the contextual brief of the selected ruralcontext;
** Students should rethink the way traditional hospitals work to find prolific planning and experiential alternatives;
** Students should creatively interpret the program to propose new ways of imagining and experiencing healthcare spaces

Design Brief:
** Self sustainable and low maintenance design solution
** Robust building construction using local materials
** Cost effectiveness considering rural context
** Easy accessibility in terms of building design for all ages of people
** Sensitivity towards the built fabric of the rural context
** Strong connections to local surroundings
** Climate response
** Sustainable place-making from an economic, social & environmental perspective
** Outstanding and original design informed by contemporary ideas of rural India

** Start of competition and registration: 5th June 2016
** Registration ends: 20th July 2016
** Closing date for submission: 31st August 2016
** Announcement of winners: 1st October 2015
** All Last Dates are 11:59 pm – 00:00 IST (India)

Awards:
The Jury shall select 3 winning entries that will receive a cash prize
and certificate from Hosmac.

1st Prize: Rs 25,000/- + Certificate
2nd Prize: Rs 15,000/- + Certificate
3rd Prize: Rs 7,500/- + Certificate
The Jury shall also select 2 Honorable Mentions.

All top 5 entries will be published on Hosmac’s Website and Healthcare Executive Magazine powered by Hosmac. Winning team members would be offered a paid internship opportunity in Hosmac’s design studios in Mumbai or Dubai.
