Winter by Julian Opie Contest:
About Julian Opie’s exhibition:
Winter by UK artist Julian Opie comprises 75 prints representing the artist’ walk through the French countryside on a harsh but beautiful day. The prints comprise a range of influences, from 17thcentury Dutch landscape painting to Street View on Google Maps, and are at the forefront of Opie’s continued investigation into the experience of landscapes.

The installation of these works at the Dr. Bhau Daji Lad Museum creates a surrounding panorama that combines the rural landscape with slick architectural surfaces immersing the viewer in the purified essence of his experience. The exhibition is on view at the Dr. Bhau Daji Lad Museum till September 13.

About:
The British Council and Dr. Bhau Daji Lad Museum are inviting entries by individuals to relate with the theme of Julian Opie’s current exhibition, Winter, currently on show at the Dr. Bhau Daji Lad Museum. Send us ONE IMAGE/ VISUAL that aptly shows a landscape from your surrounding and captures the beauty of nature. It could even be a painting or sketch. Tell us in about 100 words something about that image and where it is from (using location tool in Facebook). The most visually striking entries stand a chance to win some exciting prizes such as 1-year free online membership to the British Council library, museum merchandise, British Council iPad covers, notebooks and a curatorial tour of the exhibition.

How to send the entries:
The contest will be operated through our Facebook page: facebook.com/BritishCouncilIndia. Post your entries on our page using the hashtags: #JulianOpie and #Winter. Share the fb link on Twitter using the same hashtags and tag: @BDLMuseum and @inBritish in your post.

Entry Rules & Conditions:
1. The contest is open to everyone. Each participant should have viewed the exhibition at the Dr. Bhau Daji Lad Museum.

2. Along with the contest photo, send us a selfie with one of the works or the exhibition banner in the museum.

3. The work has to be original and taken by the participant only. Any entry that violates that condition will be disqualified.

4. Do not forget to use appropriate hashtags and tagging.

5. The British Council will have the sole right to reject the entries sent by the participants and will choose the BEST 3 ENTRIES who win special gifts. The winners and other TOP 10 ENTRIES will get a special curatorial tour of the exhibition at BDL Museum.

6. All the entries shall be the property of the British Council and we are subject to use them with appropriate credit as and when we feel necessary for promotion purposes.

7. Closing date for the entries will be September 9. The winners will be announced on September 12.
