Worldskills India Competition:

WorldSkills International is the largest skill competition in the world, organised once every two years in one of the member countries. More than 1000 contestants below the age of 23, compete for gold, silver and bronze medals, in over 46 skills. The competition is held over a span of four days.

Wild Card Entries :
The purpose of a Wild Card Entry is to permit such a candidate to participate in National Competition, in the interest of India sending the best candidate for the WSC.

In order:
** To have more competitive environment at the National level.
** To generate maximum participation from leading potential available across country.
** That genuine/exceptional talent is not missed out due to circumstances not conducive for participation in regional selection.
** To age being such that there may not be second chance available to potential talent in future competitions. Alternatively, may discover raw talent that can be prepared for later competitions.
** To focus on discovering the best candidate to represent the country.

Selection process for Wild Card Entries:
** Opening of Online portal for registrations in the 20 Skills
** Candidate to upload a recommendation letter from their organization as a proof of champion from that institute or organization on the prescribed Template
** Pre-Test Modules with Marking Scheme will be uploaded on the WS India site
** Supporting Partners will carry out initial filtration/Screening
** The selections will be held under the supervision of Supporting Partners by appointment of Skill Specific Jury
** 2-3 candidates to be shortlisted by Oct 16 who will join the 3 IndiaSkills selected candidates to compete in Pre National Selections.

Note:
Only one candidate can participate from one organization per skill. For Example, In the skill of Fashion Technology, if we receive multiple applications from Pearl Institute, Delhi, we would only be considering 1 application from that institute.
