Innovate For Digital India Challenge :

The Digital India vision of the Government seeks to empower every citizen with the benefits of technology by enabling digital transformation.

In this light Intel & the Department of Science &Technology, Government of India (“DST”), have come together again to foster a new wave of disruptive innovation that empowers citizens and transforms India by announcing the Intel & DST – Innovate for Digital Challenge 2.0 (“Challenge”).

Challenge Theme:
Intel & DST – Innovate for Digital India Challenge 2.0 aims to foster local innovation and encourage the creation of intuitive, easy to use and scalable solutions on IoT, Datacenter, and/or Cloud platforms. Solutions developed during the course of the Challenge are to be based on Intel® architecture.

The solutions should address problems faced by Indian citizens across one of the following fields: Healthcare, Financial Inclusion, Agriculture, Sustainability and Smart City. Solutions must provide digitally transformative experiences thus helping build a Digital India.

Participation Eligibility:
The Challenge is open to participating teams fulfilling the following non-exhaustive criteria:
** Startups and Entrepreneurs registered in India with teams in place.
** Possess a prototype or conceptual prototype to demonstrate proficiency.
** Develop solutions based on the Challenge Themes as mentioned.
** Possess a business plan for achieving scale.
** Willing to develop their prototypes based on Intel® architecture.
** Additional weightage will be given to teams who have participated and been shortlisted at other tech events/innovation challenges in the last 24 months.

Phases:

Phase I: Soliciting and Processing applications – to last upto 4-6 weeks. Intel, MyGov, DST, Open Government Data (“OGD”) Platform and T-Hub will help create awareness for the Challenge through various promotional initiatives and solicit entries. All participating teams will need to submit a fully filled and valid application form at https://innovateindia.mygov.in/

Phase II
: After screening all submitted forms, T-Hub will shortlist and invite upto 20 teams to Hyderabad for presenting their concepts, conceptual prototypes and business plans to a panel of experts for evaluation. At the end of this Phase, expected to last upto 4-5 weeks, up to top 10 teams will be identified. Each of the selected teams will have access to prototyping grants of upto INR 3 Lakh;

Phase III
: NanoAcceleratorTM Program (“Accelerator program”) – upto 8 weeks phase, beginning Dec first week, 2016. The Accelerator program will include an introductory one week residential bootcamp at the start of the accelerator phase and a concluding residential ‘demo day’ week at the end of the phase – both to be held in Hyderabad. By the end of the Accelerator program, all ten teams will be required to have working prototypes based on Intel® architecture and up to top three teams will be shortlisted.

Phase IV
: Go to Market support – to last 5-7 weeks & includes market access opportunities led by T-Hub and its network of knowledge partners and industry. Upto Top 3 teams (2 per team) will be given an opportunity to visit USA for a duration of approx. two weeks for go-to-market support from experts. Each of the top three teams will have access to development grants of upto INR 5 lakh.

Phase V
: Upto top three teams will be invited to Delhi for a grand finale event to showcase their GTM ready solutions based on Intel® architecture to a panel of experts comprising representatives from industry, government, Intel, T-Hub and DST. A winning team will be announced and be privy to a final grant of upto INR 20 lakh. This is tentatively scheduled for April 2017.

Solutions should be in the field of one or more of the following verticals:
i. Agriculture Solutions / Agritech
ii. Healthcare Solutions / Healthtech
iii. Education Solutions
iv. Financial Inclusion / Fintech
v. Manufacturing/Engineering
vi. Services and Logistics
vii. Sustainability including resources as water, energy etc.
viii. Smart City

Duly completed and fully filled forms must be submitted using the online application system before 6 pm IST on Friday, 21st October 2016.
