Art Competition :

Theme : “Conserving the Himalayan Landscape: Perception and Coping with the climate change impacts on food, water, disease, and facilities.”

Through our art competition we would like to highlight the solutions for climate change in the hills with a message of hope

** Kumaun University (Faculty of Visual Arts), SSJ Campus, Almora

** G.B. Pant National Institute of Himalayan Environment &Sustainable Development (Climate Change Theme), Kosi-Katarmal, Almora

Submission : One Painting plus One Abstract (200 words)

Participants : The competition is open for all the students of Kumaun University studying from any campus or college in UG/PG/Research Scholar with the subject of Fine Arts / Visual Arts / Drawing and Painting, and Research Scholars of GBPNIHE&SD.

Awards – 1st Prize of Rs. 15,000/- (One), 2nd Prize of Rs. 10,000/- (One), 3rd Prize of Rs. 5,000 (Two), and Certificate of Appreciation (Three). Certificate of participation will be provided to all the selected participants for exhibition.

Rules and Regulations:
** Declaration of property and originality of work – The Work must be original of the candidate. The participant should be the creator of the artwork being submitted for the competition. The art work should be an original concept of the participant and not a copy of anyone else’s copyrighted material. (If participant infringes upon another’s copyright he/she will be disqualified). Upon submission of artwork in this competition, participant will be solely responsible for any infringement of copyrighted materials.
** Copyright – Transfer of the copyright of the work will be automatically handed over to organizers, and right of use for non-commercial activities for promotion, awareness, and printing on document will be with the organizers.
** Award winning paintings will be property of the GBPNIHE&SD with all the rights.
** The paintings selected in this competition will be displayed in art exhibitions,
** A participant can submit maximum of two artworks.

** The competition will take place in two phases.
First Phase – Submission of electronic image (photo/scanned image, etc.) of the painting along with entry form, abstract, and digital photo of artist on or before 30 November 2016.
Second Phase – Submission of original work by shortlisted candidates on or before date announced for this purpose.

** No fee is applicable for participation.
