South India Level Biology Quiz Contest – 2015 [SILBiQ-15]:

The Department of Biotechnology, Karunya University organizes a South India level biological science quiz for higher secondary school students of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala & Tamil Nadu and of all streams of education to improve their biological science education and also to enhance the number and quality of the future bio-scientists in the country.

Results will be published online at karunya.edu on 18th October

The quiz competition is focussed to recognize the young talented students and motivate their interest in Biological Science. This will also cater to enhance the skills of higher secondary / pre-university students in the field of biological sciences

Syllabus :

Broadly equivalent to the higher secondary level (Class XI and XII) of CBSE and STATE Boards – Biology

Key features :

** 50 Multiple choice questions
** No negative markings
** Time limit: 45 min

Instruction:
Preliminary screening – written test will be held at their respective school premises on 9th October 2015.

Shortlisted students will be called for Semi Final and Final rounds at Karunya University Campus, Coimbatore on 25 October 2015.

Question paper will be in English only.

Schools with maximum number of participants will be awarded with special honours.

Prizes and Awards :

1st Prize : Rs. 10,000/
2nd Prize : Rs. 7,500/
3rd Prize : Rs. 5,000/
Plus an Eco trip to Nilgiris Biosphere along with experts

Participant & Eligibility :

Competition is open to all students studying in state syllabus and central syllabus in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala 8 TamilNadu, and of class XI and XII.
