Watch & Win on Star Movies Contest :

The following are the terms and conditions governing the “Watch & Win on Star Movies” (‘Contest’) hosted by Star India Private Limited on the Star Movies Twitter Page twitter.com/StarMoviesIndia for the promotion of the 89th Annual Academy Awards (“Oscars”) to be telecast live on February 27th, 2017 on the channel Star Movies SD, Star Movies HD & Star Movies Select HD.

The Contest invites interested persons to participate in the Contest by answering questions based on the forthcoming Oscars and send in their Oscar® acceptance speeches in the form of video, audio, image or text on Twitter using the hashtag #watchNwinOnStarMovies (“Participant(s)”).

The Contest shall commence on 27th February 2017 from 05:30 hours Indian Standard Time (“IST”) and will close on 27th February 2017 at 23:00 hours IST (‘Period’). STAR may at its sole discretion extend or curtail the Period of the Contest or may suspend or abandon the same at any time without any prior notice of the same.

By participating in the Contest, it is construed that the Participant(s) has read and understood the Principle Rules including the General Rules stated below (“Terms and Conditions”) and has accepted and agreed to abide by the same.

For the avoidance of doubt, the Privacy Policy available on startv.com shall govern all usage of any personal information gathered under or pursuant to this Contest by STAR.

Principle Rules :
1. STAR shall announce the Contest through on-air promos and on Star Movies India Facebook Page at the URL facebook.com/StarMoviesIndia (“Star Movies Facebook Page”) and on Star Movies India Twitter page at the URL twitter.com/StarMoviesIndia.

2. To participate, the Participants need to watch the live telecast of the Oscars on the Channel. During the live telecast of the Oscar five (05) questions will be asked on the Star Movies Twitter Page (“SM Twitter Page”).

All the questions shall be pertaining to the Oscars. In addition to answering the questions, participants will have to send in their Oscar® acceptance speech in the form of video, audio, image or text on Twitter using the hashtag #watchNwinOnStarMovies

3. All Participant(s) must have a valid Twitter account to be eligible to participate in the Contest. For the sake of clarity, it is hereby agreed to and confirmed by the Participant(s) that the same does not include a Twitter account opened and operated by a family member and/or friend of the Participant(s).

4. Participant(s) shall be required to tweet the answers to the questions and the video, audio, image or text for the acceptance speech using the Hashtag #watchNwinOnStarMovies and shall tag the Star Movies India Twitter Page @StarMoviesIndia (“SM Twitter handle”) (“Entry/ies”).

Entries submitted without the Hashtag and tagging the SM Twitter handle shall be considered null and void. The Participants must follow the SM Twitter Handle. Further, the Participant(s) are required to answer all 5 (five) questions and send in their acceptance speech in order to be eligible to win the Contest.

5. It is the sole responsibility of the Participant(s) to ensure that the Entry submitted does not infringe the rights of any third party including rights in any intellectual property and shall be original in form. Duplicate Entries and/or two or more identical Entries shall be disqualified from the Contest.

6. The Participant(s) shall ensure that the Entry is original, decent and is not immoral, defamatory, abusive, offensive, insensitive, libelous or blasphemous to the Oscars, any person, or section of the society, etc.

7. Each Entry shall be judged inter alia, on the basis the right answers with respect to the Oscars and its relevancy to the Oscars its originality, uniqueness, innovativeness, quality of writing and creativity. The decision of Star India is final and binding in this regard.

8. At the end of the Period, two (02) Entries shall be randomly selected from the Participants who have provided Entries which are in compliance with the aforesaid parameters shall be eligible to win the Contest (“Shortlisted Participant”).

For the sake of clarity, even if one (1) tweet from any number of tweets submitted by a Participant is found by Star India to be derogatory, indecent, tarnishing the image of the Oscars, abusive etc. such Participant(s) shall immediately be disqualified and no other Entry from the such disqualified Participant shall be considered for the purpose of the Contest even if the other Entries comply with the selection criteria.

The screening process of the Entries is per the sole discretion of Star India and the decision of Star India is final and binding in this regard.

9. The Shortlisted Participant will be contacted on Direct Message (“Private Message”) on their Twitter ID to provide their name, age, email id and phone number (“Contact Details”) to hello[AT]startv.com within 24 hours of such message failing which their Entry shall be invalidated.

10. Upon receipt of the Contact Details, Star India shall contact the Shortlisted Participant via email to submit (including but not limited to) scanned copies of their identity proof, age proof and address proof (eg. Birth Certificate, 10th Class leaving Certificate/ School certificate/ passport/any other valid ID for verification) (“Documents”) within twenty four (24) hours of such email.

In the event, any Shortlisted Participant fails to submit the Documents his/her participation shall be invalidated and shall forfeit his/her chance to win the Prize. It is clarified that Star India shall not be obligated to shortlist another Participant in place of such forfeited Participant.

11. Star India shall make only one (1) attempt to reach the Shortlisted Participant. In case such Shortlisted Participant fails to revert, his/her selection shall be invalidated and Star India shall not be liable to such Shortlisted Participant in any manner whatsoever.

12. Upon verification of the credentials only those Shortlisted Participant that are in compliance with Terms and Conditions requirements stated herein, shall be contacted via “Direct Message” option on Twitter, informing him/her that he/she is the winner (“Winner”).

13. Communication to the Winner shall be done on or before 23rd March 2017. In case the winner announcement is postponed for whatsoever reasons, Star India will not be held responsible.

14. Non-conformance by the Participant(s) to any and all the Terms and Conditions herein or as set by Star India from time to time will make such Participant’s Entry(ies) null and void.

15. STAR shall not be responsible and/or liable in any manner whatsoever for any network problem, breakdown of machinery, unclear network, disruption in the network and/or the cost of the SMS charged by the telecom/mobile operator etc.

Any dispute in connection to the above shall be settled between the subscriber(s)/Participant(s) without involving STAR.

16. Entries sent after the Period will not be considered for the Contest and shall be deemed null and void.

17. STAR shall not be responsible or liable for any technical disruption and/or failure/ and/ or any other difficulties of such nature, due to which the Participant(s) is unable to participate in the Contest.

18. STAR shall make a maximum of two (2) attempts to reach the Shortlisted Participants on the phone number as provided by them in direct Message.

If the telephone/mobile number is engaged, or busy, or un-answered, STAR shall make one (1) more attempt on the same day. In case he / she is still unavailable, the selection shall be invalidated.

19. STAR reserves the sole right to select the Winner(s) of the Contest and such decision shall be final and binding on the Participant(s).
20. STAR shall at its sole discretion change the mechanism of the Contest , to choose any number of Winners for the Contest and change gratification of the Contest.
