OASIS 2015
For centuries now, the sands of the quaint hamlet of Pilani have lured many-a-traveller into their unyielding clutches, and once you experience it, so will Oasis. In its 45th edition, the cultural fest of BITS Pilani has risen from the whim of a pile of sand to one of the biggest college gatherings in the country. For the un-worshipping youth, Oasis is our religion. Come celebrate it with us.

It gives us, the students of BITS Pilani, great pleasure to welcome you to take part in our annual cultural festival Oasis ’15-Around the World in 96 Hours, which is going to be held from 28th October to 1st November 2015.

Get ready to take the journey of a lifetime, with the theme ‘Around The World In 96 Hours’, and who knows, you may very well reach your destination, or better still, forget about it. With a myriad of events from Rocktaves to Oasis Quiz and performances by artists of worldwide renown, the fest promises to be bigger, better and much more memorable this time around.

Applying for Participation in Oasis ’15-Around the World in 96 Hours

To participate in Oasis ’15 a prospective participant must go through the following steps:

Step#1: APPLICATION
Go to the link bits-oasis.org/2015/participate and click on the ‘APPLY’ button. We recommend you browse the official communiqué to know about all the events in store.

Once you have faithfully entered necessary details in the application and applied, you will get the contact of your college representative. Note his/her details carefully, your college representative is a crucial person!

[NOTE: The ‘APPLY’ button closes at 2400 hrs on 30th September]

Step#2: REGISTRATION
Please note that only your college representative can register you for Oasis ’15. Your application will reach your college representative. However we encourage you to contact your representative and inform him/her that you have applied and are a bona fide student of the same college.

If you are the college representative, you will have access to an Oasis ‘15 web-account wherein you will receive applications from your college that you must vet as students of your own college. You will have the option to add and delete applicants as well as edit applications from your college.

Step#3: CONFIRMATION
Once you have been registered with Oasis ’15 by your college representative, you are in the waitlist to be confirmed as participants in Oasis ’15. Please fulfill all preliminary requirements of your respective events such as video/audio/script submissions. Follow the website for regular updates and important dates for submissions.

Tentative date for first list of confirmations is 1st October.

Other participation details :

We strive to give you a memorable experience in Oasis ’15 and your safety is of paramount importance. Hence we provide accommodation for all participants within campus boundaries. Following are the details regarding your accommodation in BITS during Oasis ‘15.

1. Accommodation will be provided for all participants in the hostel common rooms and staff quarters.

2. Accommodation facilities will be provided from 0900 hrs on 28th October till 1700 hrs on 1st November, 2015. Hence teams should make their travel arrangements accordingly.

3. At the time of registration, coupons can be bought for having breakfast, lunch and dinner at the hostel messes.

4. Required accessories, per common room basis, will be provided at rooms beforehand itself.

5. If any of the items provided in common rooms are found damaged or misplaced, participants will be charged accordingly.

6. Participation Fee for Oasis ’15 is Rs. 750 per participant (non-refundable). Participants will also be charged an additional refundable security deposit of Rs. 300. Payment details will be intimated to you as soon as your participation is confirmed.

7. Mess coupons for meals in various hostel messes can be purchased in the mess on campus.

Please adhere to the regulations of BITS Pilani while on campus. The decision of the organizing committee will be final and binding in all cases.

To gain entry into the BITS Pilani campus, your participation must be confirmed beforehand by the Dept. of Publications and Correspondence. Participants must carry their respective confirmation letters. Entry will be allowed only after 0900 hours on 28th October 2015.

Instructions :
1. All participants must carry their valid ID cards and college bona fide certificates (attested by the Head of the Institution) compulsorily.

2. Only students mentioned in the confirmation mail shall be allowed to enter the campus, provided they have a sound bona fide certificate from their respective college. Kindly inform beforehand the Dept. of Publications and Correspondence about any faculty accompanying you. No extra members will be entertained.

3. Group leaders should carry two photographs, and everyone else should carry a photograph compulsorily.

Dos and Don’ts
1. All the teams participating in Oasis ’15 must obey the following rules and regulations of FIREWALLZ:

2. Consumption of liquor or any other intoxicant is strictly prohibited. If the participant is found in possession of any kind of intoxicants, his/her registration will be cancelled, he/she shall be expelled immediately and his/her college will be blacklisted.

3. Male participants are not allowed to enter any of the girls’ accommodation including staff quarters and vice versa.

4. Participants found guilty of eve–teasing shall face serious consequences to the scale of lodging of criminal complaint along with the blacklisting of college.

5. Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the BITS Pilani campus.

6. ID cards issued by the Department of FIREWALLZ should be carried along all the time and should be produced on demand.

7. Department of FIREWALLZ bears no responsibility for the loss or theft of any belongings. All the participants are requested not to leave any valuables/money unattended.

8. Entry of private/college vehicle is prohibited.

9. No Entry to restricted places on campus.
