Essay Writing Competition For Smart City Kochi 2015:
The Kochi Municipal Corporation and the Government of Kerala are pleased to inform you that your City has been selected through a competitive process for SMART City Mission initiative of Government of India.

The Smart City mission is citizen driven and should capture the aspirations of the citizens about their city and the ways to achieve those. This requires active support and suggestions of citizens which will also help Kochi in emerging as one of the best among the 98 smart cities selected.

In this regard, we invite Citizens to take part in this Essay competition.

The competition will be in two categories:
(a) For Students (10-17 year old) and (b) For Other citizens (18 and above).

The Topic for the Essay is “KOCHI, CITY OF MY DREAMS”. You may write about your overall vision for the city covering one or more of the following themes: Fast Kochi (Travel), Safe Kochi, Clean Kochi, Green Kochi, Beautiful Kochi, Healthy Kochi, Smart and intelligent Kochi, Inclusive Kochi, Socially Cohesive Kochi, Improved standard of living (Water supply, Sewerage, Housing, Economically vibrant, Employment), improving the way of life etc. Among other things, the Content should specifically cover aspects like what is the vision for the city, what are the priority concerns of the city and citizen solution to address them.

Winners:
The Winners in each category will be announced by in the month of November. The Top 3 winners under each category shall receive a Certificate of Excellence and the Winning Entries and Winner profile shall be shared in the Kochi Municipal Corporation’s web portal.

Additionally, cash awards shall also be provided to the top 3 entries in each category as follows:
a) 1st Prize (One) – Cash Incentive of Rs. 5000 /- (Five Thousand only)
b) 2nd Prize (One) – Cash Incentive of Rs. 3000 /- (Three Thousand only)
c) 3rd Prize (One) – Cash Incentive of Rs. 2000 /- (Two Thousand only)

How to Submit
The Essays (in English or Malayalam) may be submitted through any one of the following ways:
1. Upload as PDF file at www.mygov.in
2. The Students may submit their essays Directly/ through the Institute. Submissions through the institute should carry the Sign and Seal of the Institute
3. In case of submission in Hardcopy, the copy may be send to the following address: TC # 15/166, Vipanchika Annex, Althara Nagar, Sasthamangalam P.O, Thiruvananthapuram – 695010

Other Citizens category:

Terms and Conditions:
** In Student Category, the Essays will be evaluated on the basis of the creativity and articulation of the Dream city idea. In other category, the essays shall be evaluated on the basis of originality of ideas, Innovativeness, Implementability and Creativity
** Individual entries/ Team entries will be accepted. However, the number of Entry is limited to one per person/team.
** The decision of State Mission Director for selecting the winner shall be treated as final
