Answer: GATE exam is conducted by IISC Bangalore in association with any one of the seven old IIT’s.

Question: What is the age criteria to appear for GATE Exam?
Answer: There is NO age criteria to appear for GATE exam.

Question: What is the pattern of GATE Exam?
Answer: Total Questions: 65
Duration: 3 hours
Total Marks: 100
Negative Marking: 1/3 marks.
Includes MCQ and Numerical data type questions.
NOTE: No negative marking for Numerical data type questions.

Question: What are Numerical Data type questions in GATE Exam?
Answer: These are the questions which do not have multiple choice options (i.e. a, b, c, d). Instead, these are fill in the blanks questions, where real values have to be entered on the virtual keypad displayed on the monitor by using mouse.
Note: Physical keyboard will be deactivated.

Question: What is the validity of the GATE score card?
Answer: The GATE score card is valid up to 3 years from the date of result.

Question: Are B.Tech Pre-final year candidates eligible for GATE?
Answer: No. Final year and passed out students are eligible.

Question: How many times we can attempt the GATE exam?
Answer: There are no attempt limits for the GATE exam.

Question: When is GATE exam conducted?
Answer: GATE exam is conducted in the month of weekends of Jan/Feb.

Question: What is the procedure to get admission in NIT’s?
Answer: All the NIT’s conducts admission through single platform called CCMT- Centralized Counseling for M.Tech Admissions.

Question: Can I appear for a paper that is different from my degree discipline?
Answer: Yes.
