Patriotic Short Film Festival

** Patriotism means attachment to your homeland.
** If one is talking about patriotism, the first thing that comes to the mind is the armed forces. Our brave hearts, who think nothing of sacrificing their lives to protect our country and keep us safe.

** Atharva Foundation in association with Pocket Films proudly presents the ‘Patriotic Short Film Contest’. Show us how much the armed forces mean to you. Their stories- well known or untold.

What We Want :
** Short Films, Documentaries & Music Videos of duration not more than 20 minutes, (including title & end credits) with the theme of saluting the armed forces.
** It could be about what the armed forces mean to you, or it could about a particular story about them that you want to share.

Eligibility

** The Participant should be over 18 years of age as on 15th November 2017
** The film should be made by a person of Indian origin OR the film should be based on India

Two options are available for participating in the festival :
1. Participating only for Patriotic Short Film Festival contest
2. Participating for Patriotic Short Film Festival contest and also availing the distribution offer from Pocket Films which would mean that your film not only gains awareness across various platforms but you also participate in the success of your film through revenue share.
** Please read the respective terms of participation and submit your entries accordingly.

Theme :
** Films based on a patriotic theme of saluting the armed forces. Stories revolving around our armed forces ie. army, navy and airforce. Basically, a heartfelt salute to our heroes.

Submission Last Date : 10th January 2018

Prizes

** The Winning film will be screened at the grand event to be held on 31st January 2018 in Mumbai in the presence of a large and celebrity audience.
** The Top 3 Winning films will receive exciting prizes worth Rs.4,00,000.
** The Top 3 Winning films will also get a Certificate and a trophy.

Terms For Only Contest

Definitions :
Unless otherwise defined in this Agreement, the following terms shall have the meaning ascribed to them here under:
** Entry or Participating Entry or film shall mean the short film submitted for the current contest and shall include all metadata and other details related to the same.
** Participant shall mean the person or entity submitting the entry to the contest

** Pocket Films refers to the organizer of the contest, an entity with the legal name ‘Onetakemedia.com Private Limited’ and wherever applicable shall include the company, affiliates, assigns, successors, directors and employees.
** The Foundation refers to Atharva Foundation
** Organizers shall jointly refer to Pocket Films and the Foundation.

** Distribution means the right granted by the Participant to Pocket Films including but not limited to exhibit, display, promote, broadcast, stream, offer for download, syndicate to third parties, sub-license, the said film through all mediums and platforms as well as the rights to monetize, explo it the same.

Terms Relating To The Content:
** The film (the term ‘film’ also includes the supporting details and metadata, wherever applicable) shall not be more than 20 minutes in duration, including the beginning and end credits. Films exceeding this time limit are liable to be rejected. We recommend keeping the credits at the end of the film.

** The films may be in their original language but MUST be subtitled in ENGLISH. Films in English language too should have subtitles in English. We recommend subtitles be submitted in .srt format as far as possible and submit to us along with your film. ** The films may be shot in any format. However, the recommended ratios are: 16:9 / 16:9 Full Height Anamorphic – in DV / HDV. The recommended video files formats are VOB, MPG, MPEG4 or AVI.

** In making your Film, you must have (1) obtained appropriate releases for every person who appears recognizably in your Film; (2) obtain appropriate releases for those locations that appear recognizably in your film and require releases; (3) obtained appropriate releases from producers, right-holders and/or co-producers You will retain any such releases and provide them to the organisers upon request.

** The Film must not contain any copyrighted work(s) belonging to third parties unless (1) you have a license to use such works in the Film; or (2) the use your Film makes of such works is a fair one under the copyright laws. You will retain any licenses and provide them to organisers upon request.

** All participants including those not offering their films for distribution grants the Organisers (Pocket Films and Atharva Foundation) the limited non-exclusive rights to screen the film at the Foundation’s events.
** The Participant also grants the Organisers the right to use their name, image, voice, likeness, statements, background and biographical material relating to or for promotion of the contest or Foundation
