Yuva Kalakaar Contest :

** Sangeet Sadhana is organizing a Hindustani Classical Music Competition that aims at promoting and popularizing Hindustani classical music and rewarding the best young practitioners of classical music.

The Contest :
** Sangeet Sadhana invites young talent to the Yuva Kalakaar Contest, a Hindustani Classical Music Competition that aims at promoting and popularizing Hindustani classical music and rewarding the best young practitioners of classical music.

Who can participate :
Children : From 3+ to 6 years
Juniors : from 7 to 14 years
Seniors : From 15 years and above
Categories (Hindustani) :
Category A: Vocal – Pure classical Khayal or Dhrupad gayan
Category B: Vocal- Semiclassical forms: Bhajan, Thumri, Dadra, Tappa, Kajri, Hori, Chaiti, Gazal
Category C: Instrumental- non Percussion (Swar Vadya)
Category D: Instrumental- Percussion (Laya Vadya) Tabla or Pakhawaj Vadan
How to Participate :
Performance Round 1 :
** Participants need to upload audio/video recording of their performances to enter the competition. Please limit the recording to 3 minutes or less.
** A select list of performers will be chosen for Performance Round 2
Performance Round 2 :
** This round will be in the presence of eminent personalities present as jury.

The shortlisted participants will perform in three Segments :
i) First Segment : Raga
ii) Second Segment: Basic theoretical understanding or Raag Parichay, and
iii) Third Segment: Judges Choice.
The time duration will be as follows :
First Segment: Raga: 3 minutes
Second Segment: Raag Parichay : 1 minute
Third Segment: Judges Choice: 2 minutes
The Jury :
** The winners will be judged by eminent music personalities.

Instruments Support :
** Tabla, Tanpura & harmonium will be provided for the participants in vocal categories. Participants in Instrumental categories need to bring their respective classical instruments with them.

Reward & Recognition :
** All the winners in each category will receive mementos and recognition from Padma Bhushan Pandit Rajan Misra and Padma Bhushan Pandit Sajan Misra on 30th Dec 2017 at The Benarasiya Concert at The Bangalore Gayana Samaja. They will also win free passes for the event.

** Winners will also be featured in the media.

When to Register :
** Registration for Performance Round 1 is open from 15th Nov 2017 till 20th Dec 2017.

Terms & Conditions :

** Recommendation letter from the respected Guru(s) from whom the applicant has learnt needs to be uploaded validating the number of years the applicant has learnt music. This is only applicable in case the performer has learnt for more than 4 yrs.

** Registration is valid from 15th Nov 2017, till 20th Dec 2017. Late entries will not be accepted and no communication in this regard shall be entertained.
** The names of the shortlisted candidates will be displayed on sangeetsadhana.org for audition.

** Registration fee for the competition is Rs. 350/- and needs to be paid online.
** All rules and regulations regarding selection of candidates as decided by Team Sangeet Sadhana shall be final and binding. The selection process at the

** auditions will be at the sole discretion of judges/jury/selection committee appointed by Sangeet Sadhana.
** Shortlisted participants will receive a confirmation E-mail. Participants are required to carry their phone/hard copy of the e-mail and present this on the day of the performance.

** The venue for the performance and the timings will be communicated over the mail to the shortlisted participants.
** Sangeet Sadhana will not offer any form of payment, actual or implied or any assured prize to the participants, for participating in the competition.

** Participants can only submit entry only once. In case of multiple submission, only the first entry will be considered.
** Participants are not permitted to submit entries on behalf of any other individual or entity.

** Entries once submitted cannot be recalled or modified under any circumstances. No communication in this regard will be entertained.
** Sangeet Sadhana reserves the right to suspend, shorten, modify or cancel this show or offering at its sole discretion.

** Any private correspondence or canvassing in any form will lead to rejection of the entry submitted by the participant.
** Winners agree that all footage, sound bites, pictures etc. captured of him/her at the auditions and during the competition can be used in any media events

** chosen by Sangeet Sadhana.
** All the rights pertaining to the visuals, footage, music and/or performances recorded during the competition will retain with Sangeet Sadhana.

** Sangeet Sadhana is free to use it for any medium for the purpose of further monetizing and publicity. No participants can have any claim on it.
** Sangeet Sadhana does not bear any liability towards travel, boarding & lodging, food & beverage, loss of personal belongings, personal safety etc.

** Sangeet Sadhana shall not be responsible for any loss or damage, if it has to discontinue or cancel this competition in compliance with any law, ruling, order, regulation, requirement or instruction of any Central/State Government or for any other unavoidable reason beyond its control. The participants will be

** informed of such discontinuance/cancellation as soon as possible, through the Sangeet Sadhana website.
