** The McDowell’s team is looking for designs that catch the eye of consumers, and bring to life the #YaariSpiritOfHoli.

** When designing their packaging, artists should keep in mind the dimensions of the packaging as well as the sizing and positioning of the different branding elements (More detailed information can be found below).

** Up to 54 pieces of work will be selected. The Selected Artists will have their work potentially featured on a large series of McDowell’s No.1 packs in the run up to and during Holi 2018. Also, selected work will be compensated with 1 lakh (1st place), 50 k (2nd – 4th place), 10k (5th – 14th place) and 4k each (up to 40 additional pieces of work).

Your Submission :
** Please look at the McDowell’s No.1 existing packaging (can be found here) and use the two templates provided (KLD1, KLD2).

** The packaging design should be an icon that represents the enthusiasm, gaiety and, most importantly, the Yaari spirit of Holi by having it carry a series of designs created by yaars for their yaaris all over India. Overall theme – a design that for you captures the Yaari spirit of Holi.

** “Gold” color is intrinsic to the Brand and hence it must be the central / dominant color for the design (see Reference from existing packaging 1.C & 1.D).

** Artists should create a packaging design that can be used or adapted for two color variations – a gold variant (for the “ORIGINAL” packaging) and a silver variant (for the “LUXURY” packaging). Only the color scheme needs to be changed to suit the background / dominant color keeping the design the same. Artists only need to create one design, but should keep in mind that the design will be adapted for both color variations (see Reference 1.D).

** The design should showcase the McDowell’s No.1 spirit of friendship and how those bonds of friendship (yaaris) are celebrated in house across India (see Reference 1.A).

** The On-Pack Brand Marque must not be obstructed / moved / re-sized in any way and ideally should form the focal point of the design or even be integrated into the design (see Reference 1.B).

** Designs must be able to be scaled to be replicable in offset print on the current McDowell’s No.1 packaging (IBC). Dimensions of the IBC (see Reference 1.E): Height 248mm; Width 100mm; Depth 75mm.

** Design must be featured on the front of pack (FOP) and back of pack (BOP) and can wrap around the pack.
** Please note that for production purposes McDowell’s No.1 reserves the right to ensure that all brand and packaging requirements are met on the final version.
