News18 If I Were FM Challenge

CNN-News18 presents the If I Were FM Challenge. The contest calls participants to wear their editorial hats and share their suggestions on what the Budget should include. The length of the suggestions is capped at 140 characters.

Who Can Participate ?

** The Contest is open to Indian Citizens residing within the geographical territory of India only. Minors are not entitled to participate in this Contest.
** It is the sole responsibility of the participants to ensure that they are entitled to participate in this Contest as per the applicable law of India.
** The contest is open for students and general public. One winner will be selected from each group and will get a chance to feature in the channel’s Budget Day programming.

Contest Gratification

A winner from both the groups – Students and General Public will be given a chance to visit our studios and feature in our Budget Day programming. Top 10 entries from students will get a certificate of participation.

Contest Period

This Contest will commence on 18.01.2018 and will end on 24.01.2018 (“Term”).

Terms & Conditions

1. The terms and conditions contained herein (hereinafter referred to as “Terms”) apply to the If I Were FM Challenge (“Contest”) to be conducted by TV18 Broadcast Limited (“TV18”) on CNN-News18.
2. The spirit of the Contest is to give a platform to general public including but not limited to the student community, to submit their suggestions for the upcoming annual union Budget 2018 (“Entry”). TV18 shall consider only such number of entries received from participants pursuant to this Contest, as decided at the sole discretion of TV18.
3. TV18 will bring on board a Knowledge Partner Price Waterhouse Coopers (“Knowledge Partner”) for the Contest.
4. Your participation in the Contest will be construed as an acceptance of the Terms. If you do not agree to any of the Terms you should not participate in the Contest.

Rules of Participation

1. Participant would be required to give a missed call from their respective mobile numbers on +91-7065421421 pursuant to which, the participant(s) will receive a SMS comprising of URL/link to the Contest website where the participant(s) can log in to register themselves in the applicable category i.e. Students or General public and submit their respective Entry (capped to 140 characters).

Alternatively, the participants may also participate using the QR code or by directly logging into the Contest website mentioned in the marketing communications/collaterals of the Contest.

2. The Knowledge Partner, at its sole discretion, will scrutinize and filter most suited entries from each category of participant (“Shortlisted Entry/Entries”). In the event, an Entry received from a particular participant is identical to another entry, then in such an event, the entry submitted first will be selected and treated as Shortlisted Entry.

3. TV18 shall at its sole discretion, form an editorial board comprising of as many members it deems fit (“Editorial Board”) to select 1 (one) winner from the Shortlisted Entries under each applicable category of the participant.

4. 1 (One) winner under each category of participant will be announced by TV18 on its website news18.com and its channel CNN-News18.

5. The winners shall be selected at the sole discretion of the Knowledge Partner/Editorial Board and the same cannot be challenged under any circumstances. The decision of the Knowledge Partner/Editorial Board will be final and binding and no questions, correspondence, enquiries, etc. on the manner of the selection will be entertained or disputed.

6. The selected winners of the Contest shall be invited to the nearest studios of TV18 and will be given an opportunity to feature in the budget programming to be decided at sole discretion of TV18 (“Prize”). The winners, if residing outstation, shall be provided with logistics support by TV18. Alternatively, TV18 may arrange for a Skype meet to enable the winner to feature in the budget programming.

However, in the event neither of the aforesaid is possible for any reasons, TV18 shall at its sole discretion forfeit the Prize and select another winner. TV18 shall not be held responsible for forfeiture of the Prize.

TV18 shall have the complete and sole editorial control over the content of the aforesaid programming and the duration, manner in which the winner(s) will feature in the programme. The Prize is neither transferable nor exchangeable.

7. The Management of TV18 reserves the right to cancel / postpone /stop this Contest at its discretion or change all or any part of terms and conditions that are applicable, without giving prior intimation of any kind and being liable for any consequential losses/damages.

8. Nothing here in amounts to a commitment or representation by TV18 to conduct further or other such Contest. TV18 is under no obligation to select any winner under applicable category of participant, in the event, it does receive any suggestion/entry under the specific category of participant.
