IIH Hamfest India Event

HAMFEST INDIA 2018 brings together people interested in amateur radio service combining a treasure trove of activities for amateur radio enthusiasts; it includes exhibits, flea market, forums, eye-ball meet and much more.

The annual event provides a platform to share knowledge and expertise from basics principles of amateur radio communication to futuristic trends in wireless communication technology.

HAMFEST INDIA 2018 is a unique social gathering where young and old come together to promote amateur radio service. The most attractive feature of this event is to allow participants find their suitable choice of new high-tech gear, to used refurbished equipment.

Contests/ Activities

Active Hero Contest

** Contest is open for all VU Hams and VU contacts only.
** Contacts can be made on HF, VHF, UHF, ECHOLINK (EL), REPEATERS & SATELLITES. But one call sign one contact only on either band including echolink is valid.
** Each contact established will get one point and special station contact AU2IIH will get 3 points.
** Contest is OPEN from 28th January 2018 till 31st March 2018.
** Contacts established on any HF/VHF/UHF/ECHOLINK/ ZELLO/NETS will be considered.
** Contestants will record: Date – Frequency – Callsign – Handle – QTH –– Cell No or LL (All these information is a MUST otherwise it will be considered as invalid.)
** Mode of calling will be: CQ HFI CONTEST this is VU…….
** Contestants making minimum 100 contacts and submission of log within notified period will get a “HAM ACTIVE HERO HFI CONTEST CERTIFICATE”.
** The top three contestants will receive “HAM ACTIVE HERO HFI CONTEST AWARD” with certificate during HAMFEST INDIA 2018.
** Abstract of log with your NAME, CALLSIGN, POSTAL ADDRESS, POSTAL CODE, CELL NO. EMAIL ID should be sent by post / courier / email to Dr.S.Sathyapal, VU2FI, General Convenor, HAMFEST INDIA 2018, # 42, 3rd Main, Maruthi Layout, Vasanthapura, Bengaluru-560 061 Or Email: ham7388@gmail.com/hamfestindia2018@gmail.com (in Word or excel format) on or before 15th April 2018.
** List of contestants making minimum 100 contacts and awardees will be notified on HFI website and in the social media.
** No certificate and award will be sent by post or courier. It can be collected only during Hamfest India 2018 or through any participating delegate.
** ABSTRACT OF ALL THE LOGS CONTAINING CALLSIGN, NAME, QTH, CONTACT NO will be notified on the HFI Website as “ACTIVE HAMS IN INDIA 2018”
** Decision of HFI 2018 committee will be final.

Satellite Communicator Contest

** Objective: To encourage experimentation and usage of Amateur Radio Satellites by Indian Radio Amateurs.
** Contest open to all Amateur Radio license holders in India.
** Contest begins on 1st February 2018 and ends on March 31st 2018.
** Contacts can be made using any Amateur Radio Satellite.
** Contacts with a station through any Amateur Radio satellite during different orbits on same & different day is considered as a valid contact. Multiple contact with the same station during the same pass will not be accepted.
** Calling etiquettes – DO NOT CALL A LONG CQ. A short CQ call “CQ HFI Contest this is AU2IIH”. Report Exchange: User Callsign > Signal Report > Grid Location.
** Scoring – ONE Point for every VU contact. TEN Points for every DX contact. TEN additional points: For ALL the contacts made using ONLY home brewed antenna.
** Proof: Photograph showing the contestant along with his/her antenna (Should be sent along with the log entries).
** Log – Date, Time (IST), Frequency (Up / Down), Callsign, Name of the Satellite, Grid Square of the station contacted. Mandatory QSL card for every DX contact.
** Log Entries: In Word, Excel format is to be emailed to ham7388@gmail.com/hamfestindia2018@gmail.com.
** Paper log (hard copy) with your Name, Callsign, Postal address, PIN Code, Contact Number, Email address is to be sent by post/courier to Dr.S.Sathyapal, VU2FI, General Convenor, HAMFEST INDIA 2018, # 42, 3rd Main, Maruthi Layout, Vasanthapura, Bengaluru-560 061
** Correction of logged callsigns and exchanges after the contest, by use of any database, recordings, email or other methods, is not allowed.
** Contestants making minimum of 10 contacts in each calendar month will be presented the ‘Satellite Communicator’s Club HFI 2018 Contest’ certificate.
** Top three contestants, will be presented “Satellite Communication Achievement Award” with certificate during HAMFEST INDIA 2018.
** List of contestants and awardees will be notified on HFI website and in the social media.
** Certificates and awards will NOT be sent by post or courier.
** It will be presented to the winners during Hamfest India 2018 proceedings only.
** If the winner is not present in person, the same would be handed over to his/her authorized representative.
