Google India Code To Learn Contest
The Google India Code to Learn Contest is designed to encourage eligible Indian school students to exhibit their creativity using Scratch or App Inventor programming tools in creating interactive stories, animations, games, music, art creations and applications.
Who Can Participate?
Parents and Teachers of students in classes 5 to 12 can register and submit projects on behalf of the students.
How to Register?
** To enter the Contest, visit the Contest official website provided above during the Contest Period and first submit the Registration Form.
** Students in classes 5 – 8 create projects using Scratch or App Inventor – fun and exciting tools created by MIT
** Students in classes 9 – 10 can create projects using Scratch, App Inventor or Machine learning projects using Google Cloud AutoML – more information inside!
** Students in classes 11 – 12 create Machine Learning projects using Google Cloud AutoML .
Scratch and App Inventor projects from Class 11 – 12 students will not be accepted.
Scratch is a free tool that has been developed by the MIT Media Lab and it can be used to create Stories, Games and Animations. It is a stepping stone to the world of Computer Programming.
The Scratch website can be used to share your project with the world and to view the projects that other people have shared.
MIT App Inventor is a free tool which can be used to create Android Apps. It works right inside your web browser and you can create Apps very quickly because it is a blocks-based programming tool that does not require knowing any programming language.
The interface is extremely simple and graphical and without knowing any programming- you can create an app in less than an hour!
AI/ML and Cloud AutoML
Machine Learning is the science of using data to teach computers how to mimic intelligent human behaviors. It refers to anything from programs that teach computers how to play board games and translate languages to complex systems which can have human-sounding conversations or help to diagnose health conditions.
** Contest / Registration opens: 20-April-2020
** Project submission opens: 15-May-2020
** Project submission Deadline: 31-July-2020
** Announcement of Finalists: On or after 15-November-2020
** Announcement of Winners: On or after 30-November-2020
** A panel of judges will select 10 finalists from each class group.
** All the 10 finalists from each class group will go through a second round of judging to select 3 winners.
** The finalists and winners will be announced on this website.
** The winners will be in no particular order. All of them will receive the same prize and certificate
** Acceptance of the prize is subject to permission from a parent/legal guardian/School Teacher.
** The nine (9) Final Winners (3 from each Standard Group) will receive a certificate of achievement and a tablet or an equivalent gadget approximately worth INR 30,000/-.
** In addition to this submissions may be displayed on the Contest website at Google’s discretion.
Projects need to be submitted on this site by 31-July-2020 (End of Day)
