eRaksha Competition

eRaksha Competition 2020, the first competition in the world focusing exclusively on Digital Citizenship and Online Safety and tackling Fake News & Misinformation.

About eRaksha

The idea behind the eRaksha Competition, is to provide a platform to netizens to share tips and strategies on

** How to be Safe & Responsible Netizens
** How to address Fake News and Misinformation especially with regard to COVID-19

Through the competitions, we wish to encourage participation across multiple levels in the education ecosystem – students from school and colleges, educators from various domains and caregivers to share innovative solutions to problems faced in cyberspace in the form of an artwork, a written piece, a video or even an invention.

Who Can Participate?

The competitions are open for the following categories:
Category 1 : Students from Schools (Ages 10 and above)
Category 2 : Students from Colleges (Ages 17 and above)
Category 3 : Teachers, Parents and Guardians

Timeline

** Launch of the Contest – 2 June 2020
** Registration opens – 2 June 2020
** Last Date of Registration – 30 Sep 2020
** Announcement of Results – 1 Nov 2020
** Award Ceremony – 1 Dec 2020

How to Participate?

Just follow the below steps to register for eRaksha Competition 2020.

Steps :
Step 1 : Participants need to fill up an online form at www.eraksha.net, and after the successful registration they will be receiving a unique ID that will be used for all future communications, so it must be kept secured.

Step 2 : Participants can register on an individual basis.
Step 3 : Organisations can also register by nominating a single person as a representative of the organisation.

Step 4 : The PPT should include,
a. For an Individual :
years of experience in the field , various projects worked on , expertised areas, management or technology achievements in cyber security, innovations, any research papers, articles published, awards received, certifications or any other such significant achievements.

b. For an organisation :
number of years of establishments and activities carried out by organization, the nominated person’s achievement in cyber security and the services rendered by him. Any innovative or effective work done in the field of information security and privacy issues.

Step 5 : The winners will be selected based on their commendable achievement in the field and will be on sole discretion of the jury.

Competitions Categories

Artcade

Use your artistic skills to show us what online safety means to you. Send in drawings, painting, comics, memes, stickers and even comic strips.

The theme for the competitions is Digital Citizenship and Online Safety. You may choose any topic related to this, such as privacy, safety, trolling, security tips, online fraud, bullying, phishing, vishing, malware etc. Please make sure that the only text your posters have is the caption.

Please refrain from writing any slogans. Winning entries will be shared by the partnering organizations on their social media handles and their websites.

Tech Avishkar

Use your coding and engineering skills to show us what online safety means to you. Your creation can be an implementation of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Internet of Things among others. .

You can create :
1. Software* (Mobile apps/Web app /Source Coding)
2. Hardware** (Innovative Device/Module Development )
3. Firmware*** (Software Controlled Devices, Appliances, etc.)

The theme for the competitions is Digital Citizenship and Online Safety. Your innovation must address a problem faced in cyberspace, such as privacy issues, safety, trolling, online fraud, bullying, phishing, vishing, malware, etc.

Word Hack

Use your writing skills to show us what online safety means to you. You can send in short stories (only for Category 1, refer to guidelines), essays (only for Category 1, refer to guidelines), articles, blogs and research papers (for Categories 2 &3).

The theme for the competitions is Digital Citizenship and Online Safety. You may choose any topic related to this, such as privacy issues, safety, trolling, security tips, online fraud, bullying, phishing, vishing, malware, etc. Winning entries will be shared by the partnering organizations on their social media handles and their websites.

Screen Masters

Let out the director in you and create an original video in the form of a short movies/awareness videos/ songs/ satires/ parodies/ documentaries and interviews with a strong message (aligning with the theme of the competition – Digital Citizenship & Online Safety) that would last forever in the minds of those who watch it.

You may choose any theme related to the same, such as privacy issues, safety, trolling, security tips, online fraud or even bullying. If you choose to put dialogues or any text in the video, please make sure that it is either in Hindi or English.

Cyber Peace Honours

** The Cyber Peace Honors is an award conferred on individuals who have consistently worked on online safety and cyber security to facilitate a peaceful, resilient and inclusive cyberspace for all.

** You can be an individual, a group of individuals or even an institution.

** Through this award, we hope to bring commendable efforts made by individuals to the forefront. So, if you are someone who has voluntarily put in efforts to promote online safety, register today.

Awards & Recognition

Winners will be selected in each category for all the competitions.

** The winners will receive Trophies and Certificates. Their profiles along with project details will be included in the Winner Compendium.
** The shortlisted candidates will receive Appreciation Certificates.
** All participants with valid entries will receive Participation Certificates in digital format.
