SCIMIT Project Contest :

Manakula Vinayagar Institute of Technology Celebrates National Science Day on 27th February 2016. A mega project contest is being conducted on the same day.

General Instructions :
1. The team should strictly adhere to the number of participants per team.
2. The participants ought to strictly adhere to the timings.
3. Participants should bring Bonafide Certificate & ID card at the time of registration.
4. Participants can take part in many events without any time clash.
5. A registration fee of Rs. 150/- per head for participants from engineering colleges and Rs. 50/- per head for participants from polytechnic colleges (Project competition) & Rs. 50/- per head for Brain teaser has to be paid.
6. Spot registration is allowed. Time : 8.30 am to 09.30 am (Except Project competition)
7. Candidate should confirm their participation on or before 07.01.2016 to the E-mail ID (scimit2016@gmail.com)
8. E-mail, phone number and postal address are compulsory.
9. Attractive prizes will be given along with certificate for the winners.
10. Participants who are selected from the preliminary round will pay their registration fee (except Project competition).
11. Participation certificates will be given for all the registered participants.
12. Lunch will be provided to the registered participants of Project competition only.
13. Refreshment in the morning & evening will be provided to all the registered participants
14. College buses are available from Villupuram and Pondy (new bus stand) at 8.00 am & from cuddalore at 7.20 am
15. No DA will be provided. TA will be admissible for participants (more than 200 kilometers)
16. Accommodation will be provided for outstation participants.
17. Organizing Committee decision is final.

Event Project X!po Rules :

1. Maximum 3 members per team.
2. The detailed abstract of half to one page should be submitted as a MS Word document (.doc format only) with Times New Roman font (size 12), Heading size: 16, single spacing and single column format on or before 7th January 2016 to scimit2016@gmail.com with subject as SCIMIT’16- project .

3. A working model to explain a concept, principle or a process of:
** An innovative/inexpensive technique.
** Application of basic principles of Science/technology
** Scheme/design of a device to save the world against the natural disaster (Eg. Flood, Earth quake,& Tsunami etc)
** Energy & its conservation techniques

4. Selected participants will be announced on 12th January 2016 through the E-mail.

5. Projects will be under the following categories:
** General science
** Civil & Mechanical
** Electrical, Electronics & communication technology
** Software & hardware technology
** Environmental issues

6. Projects belong to Software & hardware technology category systems will be provided.
7. The participants must bring their necessary accessories.

8. The event consists of 2 rounds:
Round I: Display in the exhibition hall for 3hrs. (Marks will be given based on the theme & mode of display) The participants have to crack down the Round I to get into the Round II.
Round II: Display in the exhibition hall for 2hrs. (Marks will be given based on the efficiency, design and performance of application)

9. The organizers reserves full rights to disqualify any project that is found not innovative.
10. The decision of the judges will be final.

Prizes:
Participants From Engineering / Polytechnic / Arts & Science Colleges :
** First : Rs. 25,000/-
** Second : Rs.15,000/-
**Third : Rs. 10,000

Registration Fee :
** Participants From Engineering: Rs. 150/- per head
** Polytechnic / Arts & Science Colleges : Rs50/- per head

Event Brain Teaser (Quiz) Rules :
1. Participants have to register on the spot for this event.
2. Maximum 3 teams per institution, 3 members per team
3. Prelims will be conducted to test basic knowledge in science & technology.
4. The participants have to crack down the prelims to get into the Registration.
5. Onstage event Questions will be in the audio & video type.

6. Area for this event is given as follows:
** Great scientists and their inventions
** Environmental issues
** Current affairs
** Information and Communication Technology
** Green Energy
** Biology in Human welfare
** Information and Communication Technology
** Mathematics and Everyday life
** Science and Technology in Games and sports
** Climate change-Causes and Consequences

7. SIX TEAMS will be selected for the finals, wherein a maximum of 2 teams per college shall enter the finals
8. The decision of the quiz master will be final.

Prizes :
** First : Rs. 1,000/-
** Second : Rs. 750/-
** Consolation prize: Rs. 500/-

Registration Fee : Rs. 50/- per head

Note:
** Selected candidates for PROJECT COMPETITION have to submit a printout of the filled up application form duly signed by the Head of the institution along with the registration fee as a DD drawn in favor of Manakula Vinayagar Institute of Technology, payable at Madhagadipet, Puducherry from Indian bank or by cash.
** On the back side of DD write your name, college name & the events you are attending. Eg. Mr.S.Sakthi, New College, PROJECT COMPETITION & Brainteaser
