What is STPI BuildForBharat IoT Startup Challenge?

BuildForBharat IoT Startup Challenge is a joint initiative of STPI & Jio Things Pvt Ltd. (JTL) to encourage start-ups to brainstorm, design and build the next generation consumer/business centric innovative solutions for the next billion. The challenge program invites the proposals/applications from Indian Start-ups who are working in IoT domain. The Total Prize Money is INR 10 Lakh. The Application Submission End Date is 15th August, 2022.

Eligibility Criteria

The Eligibility Criteria of BuildForBharat IoT Startup Challenge are given below,
The challenge program invites the proposals/applications from Indian Start-ups who are working in IoT domain. Start-ups registered with DPIIT under start-up India program are encouraged to participate in this program.

The start-up may be a,
** Private Limited Company (as defined in the Companies Act, 2013) or
** Registered Partnership Firm (Regd. under section 59 of the Partnership Act, 1932) or
** Limited Liability Partnership (under the Liability Partnership Act 2008)
** Individual Academicians, Researchers, Educators, Entrepreneurs.

The date of registration/incorporation must not be beyond 10 years.

Annual Turnover:
Start-up should have an annual turnover not exceeding Rs. 100 crore for any of the financial years since its incorporation.

Original Entity :
Entity should not have been formed by splitting up or reconstructing an already existing business.

Innovative & Scalable:
Entity working towards innovation, development or improvement of products, processes or services or if it is a scalable business model with high potential of employment generation or wealth creation.

Selection Process of IoT Startup Challenge

Selection Process would be organized in three (3) phases.

Phase-1: Applications from start-ups are invited through an online contest portal
Phase-2: Shortlisting of 20 start-ups with Ideas, POCs and Solutions having strong potential through initial scrutiny
Phase-3: Selection of 3 winners through demonstration & pitch-in session followed by Build and deployment phase.
