What is India Spelling Bee 2023?

India Spelling Bee is an educational organization that encourages youth, parents, teachers and the community at large to participate in the education process. Registration is open for India Spelling Bee 2023-24.

The contest is open for all students anywhere in India, thus providing an opportunity for every student to participate in this national level contest irrespective of state, city or gender.

Who can Participate India Spelling Bee?

ANY SCHOOL / INSTITUTE, ANYWHERE IN INDIA CAN PARTICIPATE !!!
ANY BOARD, ANY SIZE, ANY MEDIUM OF INSTRUCTION..IT IS FOR ALL !!
ANY STUDENT OF CLASS 1 – CLASS 9 CAN PARTICIPATE !!!
1. India Spelling Bee has participation of schools of more than 23 states & UT across India from :
** Nagaland to -Dadra & Nagar Haveli
** Jammu & Kashmir to Kerala
2. Schools of all Boards have participated like :
** CISCE
** CBSE
** IB
** State Boards

Students Eligibility :
** Students must be in grades one through nine (1-9). A student is eligible to participate in the India Spelling Bee for no more than five years in total.
** A student must be enrolled in a school that has registered for the India Spelling Bee. Students can only participate in one ISB per academic year.
** A student may not attend a school ISB at a different school prior to participating in his or her own school ISB.
** Students in eligible grade levels must follow a school schedule and academic course load comparable to the majority of the student’s peers with respect to both grade and age.
** Evidence of misconduct will result in disqualification.

Important points:
i) The form given below is to be filled up by the school only.
ii) Participation in India Spelling Bee is through school.
iii) Students of classes 1-9 anywhere in India can participate through their school/institute.
iv) There are no charges payable by the school for the school registration.
v) There is a one time fee for the students who participate.(Click here for details).
vi) Schools have to register by filling in the form given below. It takes only 2 minutes.
vii) India Spelling Bee school level contest is being held in the ONLINE format.

How to Register India Spelling Bee?

This form is not to be filled up by students. It is for the schools only. Students have to register by filling the STUDENTS REGISTRATION FORM which they can get from their school. Please mention the school name and city in the WhatsApp message.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) on India Spelling Bee
What is the India Spelling Bee?
The India Spelling Bee is a competition for students of all schools across India. It has school level, regional level and national level competition. It can be held in both written and online formats.

Who can participate in the India Spelling Bee?
Registration is open to schools with students in classes one through nine (1-9).

How can my child be registered for the ISB?
Schools can register for the India Spelling Bee, and then eligible students at the registered school may participate. Individual Students are also allowed to participate at a fess of Rs 270.

What if there are not six eligible students in the school or homeschool association?
There must be a minimum of six eligible students at the school in order for the school to participate, no exceptions.

What are the costs involved?
The students have to pay Rs. 145 for the Guide Book. The student has to submit his / her details at the school. This is a one-time charge for ISB 2023-24 and there are no other charges for regional or national level contest, should the student qualify. There are no charges for the school. This is the basic minimum charge and there are value added options also.

What materials are included in the fee?
The registered students will all get a ISB guide Book of the relevant grade (according to the class the student studies in) in a user-friendly PDF format. All participants will also be given softcopy of Certificate of Participation.

How can students prepare for participation in the India Spelling Bee?
The students can refer to the ISB Guide Book and prepare for the contest. It also has practice exercises and sample papers which can be used.

Does my child need a coach to participate in the India Spelling Bee?
Students do not need a coach to participate in the India Spelling Bee. The Guide Book is enough.

What is the timeline of the ISB competition?
Schools may register for the India Spelling Bee starting on March 1, 2023. The school level can be held till 31st March, 2024. School registration must be done by 29th February, 2024.

Is India Spelling Bee held online also?
India Spelling Bee school level contest can be held in both OFFLINE and ONLINE formats. The registered schools may choose the option suitable to them.
