What is KVIC Khadi Mahotsav Street Play Contest?

Khadi Mahotsav Street Play Contest (for UG/PG Students) 2023 is organized by KVIC and National School of Drama, New Delhi. The competition will be open to all Indian UG/PG Students. All the participants, through their street play should aim to spread awareness about Khadi Mahotsav. The last date for submission of entries is 31.10.2023 till 6.00 P.M.

Eligibility Conditions of Khadi Mahotsav Street Play Contest

a. The competition will be open to all Indian UG/PG Students.
b. The street play video must catch the essence and message of Khadi Mahotsav as elaborated in the theme as mentioned above. The participants are encouraged to explore their creative instinct and produce a street play that promotes Khadi and local products. It should attract the younger population towards use of local produce for creating a self- reliant India. It should motivate them on a higher level to contribute towards Atmanirbhar Bharat by using Khadi and local products.
c. The street play videos can be shot on smartphone or a video camera.
d. The street play video will need to be shot in 1920x1080p (Full HD)
e. The video needs to be uploaded on to YouTube as UNLISTED (it should not be available on search engines or available in public domain). The YouTube link needs to be submitted on www.mygov.in as the entry.
f. The street play video should be in any of the following Indian languages:
1. English; 2. Hindi; 3. Assamese; 4. Bengali; 5. Gujarati; 6. Kannada; 7. Malayalam; 8. Marathi; 9. Odia; 10. Punjabi; 11. Tamil; and 12. Telugu.
g. The cast should be predominantly Indian nationals.
h. Length of street play – Plays can have a duration of 15 to 25 minutes. There will be negative marking if teams flout the time limit.
i. The street play should be the original work of the group created during the duration of the competition ie. from 10th October to 31stOctober, 2023.
j. Deadline for submission of entries on My Gov platform is 31.10.2023 till 06.00 P.M.
k. The street play video should be available on you tube as UNLISTED link till the festival end i.e 31.10.2023. The videos should be submitted in the prescribed entry form and format as per the regulations, within the given deadline for submission of entries i.e. 31.10.2023 till 6.00 P.M.on MyGov platform.
l. A maximum of 5 entries from each Institute/College will be allowed for entries.
m. The portal will stop taking entries once the number of entries reach 1000. No further entries will be allowed for submission.

How to Participate in the Khadi Mahotsav Street Play Contest?

a. The entry details and regulations of Street Play Competition are available on the following websites: https://www.mygov.in.
b. Participant should make sure that his/ her MyGov profile is accurate and updated for further communication. This includes details such as name, country declaration, complete postal address, email ID and phone number, etc. Entries with incomplete profiles would not be considered.
c. The street play video, as per the eligibility conditions, needs to be uploaded on to YouTube as UNLISTED (it should not be available on search engines or available in public domain). The YouTube link needs to be submitted on www.mygov.in as the entry.
d. The video must be shot horizontally in FHD (Full HD 1080p 16:9 1920X1080) resolution only. The picture and sound should be clearly understood, with no shaking/ blurry footage and minimal noise/static.
e. Each entry shall be accompanied with acceptable formats for street play videos – YouTube – UNLISTED link (containing MP4/MOV/H264, Full HD, Resolution 1920 x 1080 pixels, 24/25 fps)
f. There will be NO ENTRY FEE/ NO PARTICIPATION FEE for the Competition.
g. The last date for submission of entries is 31.10.2023 till 6.00 P.M. Entries received after the last date may be rejected without any reference to the applicant.

Selection Of Winners for Khadi Mahotsav Street Play Contest

a. Street play videos will be selected by duly constituted jury.
b. The Jury will determine their own work process.
c. A person will be ineligible to serve on a Jury ONLY if his/her own street play is an entry. In the event of his / her close relative being associated with the particular street play, the Jury member shall recuse himself/herself from the selection process.
d. The Jury Members shall maintain strict confidentiality regarding the deliberations/recommendations of street plays during selection process. In case of any violation by jury members, suitable action will be initiated.
e. The Nodal officer at KVIC and/or his/her nominee may provide information/clarifications, required by the jury regarding the entries. They shall however neither participate in the deliberations nor vote.
f. The decision of the juries shall be final and binding and no appeal or correspondence regarding their decision shall be entertained.
g. The videos of selected street plays will be screened by any Ministry or Department under Government of India

Prizes of Khadi Mahotsav Street Play Contest

A. Top three street plays at National level will be awarded rewards as below:
– 1st Prize- Rs.25,000/- cash plus KVIC E-coupons* worth Rs. 5000/-
– 2nd Prize- Rs. 20,000/- cash plus KVIC E-coupons* worth Rs. 3000/-
– 3rd Prize- Rs. 15,000/-cash plus KVIC E-coupons* worth Rs. 2500/-

B. One street play in each language category will be awarded special prize of Rs. 15,000/- cash plus KVIC e-coupon* worth Rs. 2,500/- each. It is clarified that the plays awarded at national level will NOT be eligible for this special prize.

C. Additionally, 100 select entries will be awarded consolation prizes in the form of KVIC E-coupons* worth Rs. 2500/-.
