What is KSCSTE Logo Design Contest?

Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment (KSCSTE) invites new, creative logo designs for the proposed Science Parks in Kerala. The Government of Kerala has decided to establish three Science Parks in the State to take advantage of the opportunities arising from advancements in Science and Technology. KSCSTE is designated as the Special Purpose Vehicle responsible for establishing the Science Parks at Ernakulam, Kannur and Thiruvananthapuram. Last Date of Contest is 15th January 2024.

Theme of Logo Design Contest

The theme areas of three Science Parks tentatively identified are as follows:
1. Material Science & Marine Sciences [Ernakulam]
2. Bioprocessing & Bio perspective [Kannur]
3. Translational Genomics & Green Mobility Initiatives [Thiruvananthapuram]

The Science Park, Kerala is a platform to collaborate with International Institutions, Research and Development of Micro Small Medium Sectors and Multi-National Companies to create foster valuable relationships focusing on specific area for the translational research in association with International Universities.

The logo designs submitted for Science Parks, Kerala should have the following components and represent Kerala.
** A creative. novel Logo design should be simple to convey that Kerala is interested in keeping Science Infront
** The Kerala fraternity shall be reflected with the words Kerala Science Parks.
** Theme areas may also be incorporated in the Logo
** An additional and attractive caption is also invited with the logo (like “Infinite Possibilities”).
** Kerala Science Parks should be written in the Logo.
** The logo will be used for Science Parks at Thinrvananthapuram, Kochi and Kannur simultaneously.

Prizes of Logo Design Contest

The selected Logo design carries an attractive cash prize of Rs.5000/- (Five Thousand only) and Citation.

Terms and Conditions of Logo Design Contest

** The participant must be the same person who has designed the logo and plagiarism of any kind must be avoided. However, an influenced design shall be submitted. The ARTWORK /Logo Should be submitted in the format mentioned in the Technical Specification of the Logo given The logo must not contain any provocative, objectionable or inappropriate content.

** The winning logo may be used by KSCSTE in any manner they deem flt. KSCSTE reserves the below right to modify (or fine-tune) the prize-winner unfettered right to modify the prize -winning logo design and add or delete any information or design feature in any form. KSCSTE also reserves the right to not use the prize-winning logo at all, and/ or to use an alternative logo and/ or to not use any logo at all.

** The logo must be original and should not violate any provision of the Indian Copyright Act, 1957. KSCSTE does not bear any responsibility for copyright violations or infringements of intellectual property carried out by the participants.

** The winning logo shall be the intellectual property of KSCSTE, and the winners cannot exercise any right over them after the prize announcement and the acceptance of the prize. The winner shall be deemed to have surrendered copyrights of the winning logo to KSCSTE as soon as the results are declared

** The responsibility to comply with the guidelines and other conditions fully lies with the participant and KSCSTE will not be liable for any dispute raised by a third party.
** The results of the contest will be published in the official website of KSCSTE www.kscste.kerala.gov.in

Technical Specification of the Logo Design Contest

** Participants should email the logo in JPEG or PNG or SVG format only.
** The logo shall be in colour format. However, it shall be usable in monochromatic (black and white) format also.
** A specification sheet containing graphical construction of the design in exact proportions in a bigger size, along with the final design, theme synopsis and concept is required to be submitted.

** All technical details, including file formats, can be structured in the sheet itself. The size of the final design may vary from 5 cms X 5 cms to 60 X 60 cms. (Note: No specific geometric shape for the logo is required. The dimensions above indicate only the minimum and maximum “frame” sizes of usage.)

** The logo should be in high resolution with a minimum of 300 DPI.
** The logo should be designed on a digital platform.
** Participants should not imprint or watermark logo design.
** Every entry must be accompanied by an explanation in a maximum of 250 words.  This write-up too should be preferably uploaded, preferably in PDF format.
** During the evaluation, KSCSTE may ask participants to resubmit their entry in different size(s)/format(s) etc

How to Submit Application Form for Logo Design Contest?

The entries of the Logo Design, write-up and duly filled application form in the given proforma should reach the office of Member Secretary, Kerala State Council for Science Technology and Environment (KSCSTE), Sasthra Bhavan, Pattom – 695004 and the soft copy must be emailed to kscstesp[AT]gmail.com.

What is the Last Date of Logo Design Contest?
