What is CEO Jharkhand Voter Awareness Contest?

“Jharkhand Voter Awareness Contest” is organized by Chief Electoral Officer Jharkhand. This Contest aims to increase voter awareness among all age groups by encouraging participation in a variety of election-related subjects. The fundamental idea behind this campaign is to inspire people to value their right to vote and to express themselves creatively. Participants are urged to use their artistic and creative abilities to raise awareness and motivate others to exercise their fundamental right to vote, strengthening the basis of our democracy. Last Date of Contest is 10th April 2024.

Categories of Jharkhand Voter Awareness Contest

The Voter Awareness Contest is categorized in 4 different type of contest namely:
Short Film Making: Create a short film in Hindi/English or any regional language of Jharkhand based on the designated theme.
Song Composition: Craft a video song in Hindi/English or any regional language of Jharkhand that resonates with the specified theme.
Reel Creation: Produce a reel in Hindi/English or any regional language of Jharkhand, adhering to the given theme.
Poster Design: Develop a digital artwork, painting, or sketch inspired by the provided theme.

Rules for Video Song Making Contest

Participating in a video song making contest for voter awareness, fair elections, and the power of democracy involves creativity and adherence to certain rules. Medium of a song may be in any form including Classical, Folk, Contemporary& Rap etc. Artists & singers may use any musical instrument of their choice. Here’s a set of rules that could apply:
Song Duration: The video song duration must not exceed 2 – 3 minutes.
Original Content: Both the lyrics and music composition must be original, or proper credits should be given for any externally sourced content.
Submission Format: Videos should be submitted in a common video format (e.g., MP4, AVI) and in 16:9 resolutions.
Lyric Approval: In some cases, contests might require submission or approval of song lyrics before finalisation of winners.
Respectful Content: : The content should be respectful and avoid any offensive or discriminatory material.

Rules for Short Film Making Contest

Video Duration: The video must be maximum of 2 – 10 minutes in length.
Original Content: All content, including visuals and music, must be original or properly attributed.Short film made using only stock footages or graphic will not be eligible
Submission Format: Videos should be submitted in a common video format (e.g., MP4, AVI) and in 16:9 resolutions.
Piracy: Piracy or use of copyrighted material without permission will lead to disqualification.

Rules for Reel/Shorts Making Contest

Participating in a reel making contest for voter awareness, fair elections, and the power of democracy would likely involve similar rules to those of a short video contest. Here’s a set of rules that could apply:
Reel Duration: Reels should not exceed the maximum duration of 60 seconds.
Submission Format: Reels should follow the platform’s guidelines for format and size (e.g., Instagram’s vertical format, 9:16).

Rules for Poster Design Contest

** Share at least two photographs: one displaying the final art and another while creating it.
** Alternatively, post approximately a 1-minute video while making the poster.
** Captions accompanying the posts must reflect the conveyed message.
** Poster can be made in any shape and size and can be a painting, a sketch, digital Graphic production or a wall painting etc.

Common Rules for Jharkhand Voter Awareness Contest

Theme: The video should focus on promoting the given theme (Healthy Roll Healthy Poll, No Voter to be left behind, Voter Registration, NVD (National Voter Day), PWD Voters (Person with Disabilities), Women Voters, Awareness regarding use of alternative ID for voting, My Reasons to Participate in Election, Ethical Voting, Every Vote Matters, Third Gender Voters, NOTA (None of the Above).

Original Content: All content, including script, visuals, music, etc. must be original or properly attributed. Short film made using only stock footages or graphic will not be eligible
Language: Contents can be in any regional language of Jharkhand, but if not in Hindi or English, then English/Hindi subtitles are required.
Eligibility: The contest is open to individuals or teams of all ages.
Deadline: Submissions must be received by the specified deadline of CEO Jharkhand.
Piracy: Piracy or use of copyrighted material without permission will lead to disqualification.
Judging Criteria: All the contents will be judged based on creativity, message clarity, impact, and production quality.
Rights: By participating, contestants agree to grant organizers rights to showcase and promote the videos in any form as desired by CEO Jharkhand.
Online Sharing: All participants are encouraged to share their videos or content on social media with contest hashtags and tags as provided by CEO Office.
Respectful Content: All content must be respectful and avoid offensive or discriminatory material, unwilling to do so will lead to disqualification.
Announcement: Winners will be announced through the contest platform or notified via email or call.
Prizes: Prizes may vary and could include cash rewards, certificates, trophy or recognition.
Decision: The organizers’ decision regarding winners and disqualifications will be final.

Submission Process of Jharkhand Voter Awareness Contest

** The participant shall give a brief description of the entry along with the name, address, and phone number.

** The participant shall email the entries along with the details to ceojharkhandcontest@gmail.com. The name of the category of event (Short Film / Reel / Song / Poster) and participant category (Amateur / Professional / Institutional) for which the participant is applying shall be clearly mentioned in the subject of the email.

** All entries shall be submitted by 10th April, 2024, on the email id: ceojharkhandcontest@gmail.com

** At the end of each phase, participants must upload a screenshot of their social media post/video, clearly displaying the number of likes received. Additionally, they should manually input these numbers at the time of submission over official E-mail: ceojharkhandcontest@gmail.com

Terms & Conditions of Jharkhand Voter Awareness Contest

** Any entries containing offensive or inappropriate language, references to any political parties or religions containing vulgar, or racist content against particular cultures or communities, religious content or unverified information shall not be accepted.

** A participant is allowed to submit up-to one entry per contest. i.e. He / She can submit one entry for poster and one entry for song and one entry for short film etc. In case it is found that any participant has submitted more than one entry in any single category, all the entries will be considered invalid for the said participant.

** Any disputes or any issues related to this competition would be decided by the CEO Jharkhand, which will be final.
** No plagiarism – original pieces only. Please note that the work must be original and should not violate any provision of the Indian Copyright Act, 1957.
** The entries submitted would be the sole property of the CEO Jharkhand, with the right to use and edit for any purpose it considers appropriate.
** The entries will be judged by a jury constituted by the CEO Jharkhand. Any request for re-evaluation of the entries will not be entertained.
** The CEO Jharkhand reserves the right to cancel or amend all or any part of the Contest and/or the Terms & Conditions of the competition.
** Multiple Entries : Multiple entries are allowed in different categories, so check the rules for clarity.
