What is Wingword Poetry Competition?

Poetry Competition 2026 is conducted by Wingword. The Competition is open to anyone who is 14 years old and above. This is an online writing competition. Performance is not required anywhere. Submission has to be made online through our website. Entry fee is INR 1000 for one poem. Wingword awards 5 Lakh Rupees in prizes each year. Last date of Competition is 28th February 2026.

Eligibility of Wingword Poetry Competition

Only Indian citizens and persons of Indian origin are eligible to enter. The Wingword Poetry Competition is open to anyone who is 14 years old and above.

How To Enter in the Wingword Poetry Competition?

** This is an online writing competition. Performance is not required anywhere. Submission has to be made online through our website.
** Poems must be originally written by the applicant. We accept poems written in English or Hindi.
** Any length and style of poetry is welcome. Beginners are encouraged to participate.
** Poems on any subject are accepted. Our poets are encouraged to take inspiration from wherever they may find it.
** Entry fee is INR 1000 for one poem, INR 2000 for three poems and INR 3000 for five poems.
** We encourage participants to submit more poems, as it increases the likelihood of winning. Each poem is considered as an individual entry.

Judging Criteria of Wingword Poetry Competition

Your poems will be scored on the basis of originality of thought, creativity and style. We are not looking for correct grammar, rhyme scheme or complex words. The poems should make the reader deeply think about the subject and evoke emotions such as surprise, hope, joy or even sadness and anger.

Prizes of Wingword Poetry Competition

Wingword awards 5 Lakh Rupees in prizes each year. Poets of all styles are celebrated, and prizes also include ways to support poets’ development: book publishing, media interviews and public recognition. We are now accepting new submissions for Wingword Poetry Competition 2026 and the prizes are mentioned below.

Grand Prize: ₹50,000 + Book Publication
Second Prize: ₹30,000
Third Prize: ₹20,000
Top 10 Winners: ₹10,000

100 Commendable Mentions will be published in a best-selling anthology. Guaranteed Certificate of Participation given to each poet who sends his/ her work.
