What is Typography Day Logo Design Competition?

Typography Day is being held for the eighteenth time on 28th, 29th and 30th of September 2026, hosted by School of Design, Media and Creative Arts, JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), Kochi in collaboration with the IDC School of Design (IDC), Indian Institute of Technology Bombay(IITB) Mumbai. Design a logo for ‘Typography Day 2026’ that reflects the event’s theme, ‘Typographic Intersections: Analogue to Digital and Beyond. Students below 25 years of age can enter. Deadline for logo submission is 15th April 2026.

Eligibility of Typography Day Logo Design Competition

Students below 25 years of age. Foreign nationals and non-resident Indians are welcome to participate in the Typography Day Logo Design Competition 2026.

How To Enter in the Typography Day Logo Design Competition?

** Logo should reflect the theme of the conference. As the conference is being held in Kochi/Kerala, we encourage you to consider including the context of Kochi/Kerala in your logo.
** The logo may use calligraphic or digitally generated letterforms, pre-existing fonts, or a mix of these.
** “Typoday 2026” should be clearly visible in the logo. Participants using fonts in the logo are encouraged to use open source fonts.
** The organisers do not take any responsibility for legal disputes arising out of copyrighted fonts used in the logo.
** Logo should be usable in colour and Black&White, in low resolution in small sizes. The main title “Typoday 2026” should be clearly visible in Colour and Black and White in sizes as small as 120 by 120 pixels (Example: Instagram DP seen in a mobilephone)

Size and Resolution:
** Size of the final logo: 300mm x 300mm
** Resolution: 300 dpi File type: PDF
** Color Mode: CMYK

Uploading Entries For Logo:
Each participant has to upload THREE SEPARATE FILES:

1. The final logo in PDF format, with two pages in one PDF file: Final design in one page and next page with a brief write (not exceeding 100 words) up about the design concept. Write up should be in English. Identity of the participant should not be mentioned anywhere, directly or indirectly in these two pages.

2.Brief bio data:
** Contact Info: Name, Name and Address of Institution, Postal Address, Email, Telephone Number.
** Bio-data/personal information: Maximum of 100 words in English.

3. Copy of ID card of the institution (proof of being a student)
** Participants should upload the final logo
** Each participant is allowed a maximum of three entries.
** Repetition is not allowed.

Terms of Typography Day Logo Design Competition

** All the entries received by the stipulated date and time and found in order, shall be evaluated by a Jury panel set up by the organisers.
** No correspondence or enquiry about the identity of jury members will be entertained by the organisers at any point of time. The decision of the jury will be final.
** Rights of the organisers: The jury will have the right to select, reject, or request modifications for the selected logo.
** Organisers reserve the right to modify and use the final logo in any form, in any medium as deemed fit.
** Participants using fonts in the logo are encouraged to use open source fonts only. The organisers do not take any responsibility arising out of copyrighted fonts used in the logo.
** The work of the participant and must not infringe the Intellectual Property Rights of any third party.
** Declaration that all concepts, ideas, visuals used in the logo are original and belong to the participant, is mandatory while taking part in this competition.
** Total responsibility of originality and plagiarism free content is with the participant. The organisers do not take any responsibility arising out of legal disputes or copyrighted materials used in the logo or any disputes arising out of the IP rights of the idea, concept and contents of the final logo.
** The organisers do not take any responsibility for legal disputes arising out of copyrighted fonts used in the logo. AI generated logos will not be accepted in this competition.
** The entries sent once shall not be returned.
** The final selected logo shall become the intellectual property of the organisers and the designer shall not have any right over the same.
** The responsibility to comply with the guidelines and other conditions fully lies with the participant and the organisers shall not be liable for any disputes raised by a third party.
** The Designer of the finally selected logo will get a prize of Rs.5,000/- with a citation and would be required to surrender copyright of the design to the organisers of Typoday 2026 conference.
** Designer of the winning logo should submit the vector file of the logo in .ai and .eps formats.
** If the name of the designer is mentioned in the logo, directly or indirectly, the entry will be disqualified.
** All data about the identity of the designer should be uploaded in a separate file.
