ABLAZE Essay Competition :

SIB is here with the most awaited English Essay Writing Competition – ABLAZE selected students of classes IX and X from the Top 50 schools.

The final contest should be conducted on a date between 15th & 22nd January 2016

The idea is to provide a challenging and competitive platform for the best writing talents – to compete among one another, irrespective of the Board to which the schools are affiliated to.

Who can Participate?
** Top 50 schools in and around Mumbai will be identified by the bank
** Each school is to call for applications from classes IX and X for participation.
** School to select the best 10 students for participating in the events.

Topic:
** Topics of the contest are given below
** Kids under 15 years of age should not have facebook access.
** Is global climate change a man-made crisis?
** Does participation in sports keep teens out of trouble?
** 10 suggestions to make education more job oriented.

(One of these topics will be finalized and announced at the venue of contest by the bank officials)

How to Participate?:

** The selected students of the school to write the essay at a convenient place provided in their respective schools under the supervision of school and bank officials.
** No aids like mobile phones or any other device which can provide internet data or any related data from any source will be allowed during the competition.

The essay will have to be properly structured and norms of valuation will be covering:
a) Content
b) Structure
c) Language flair (UK ENGLISH)
d) Method of presentation
e) Grammar
f) Spelling

Evaluation & Winner Selection :
Valuation will be by eminent academicians.
Prizes are :
First : Cash prize of Rs. 5,000/- and Certificate of Merit.
Second : Cash prize of Rs. 4,000/- and Certificate of Merit.
Third : Cash prize of Rs. 3,000/- and Certificate of Merit.
Consolation : Ten (10) Cash prize of Rs. 1,000/- each and Certificates of Merit.

Note:
** Prize distribution will be held by the end of January or early February 2016.
** Prizes will be distributed at the respective school of the winners.
** The decision of the bank will be final and binding on all matters concerning the contest.
** Schools are requested to send the list of selected students and the convenient date for conducting the final contest before 7th January 2016.
