MyGov IRCTC Suggest a Tagline Contest

A clarion call to all our countrymen! Participate in the IRCTC “SUGGEST A TAGLINE” Contest. The best entry attracts a cash prize of ₹ 50,000/- (INR FIFTY THOUSAND). Please ensure you read the Terms and Conditions before submitting your entry.

Terms & Conditions

1. The Contest is open to Indian Nationals only.
2. The winning entry for the contest would be the intellectual property of the IRCTC and the winner cannot exercise any right over it, as soon as results are declared. The winner shall be deemed to have surrendered copyright/s of the winning entry to the contest organizers as soon as the results are declared. Winner will also be required to give an undertaking for the same.

3. The winning tagline is meant to be used by the IRCTC for promotional and display purposes and also for any other use as may be deemed appropriate for the initiative.
4. The tagline must not contain any provocative, objectionable or inappropriate content.
5. Please note that the tagline suggested must be original and should not violate any provision of the Indian Copyright Act, 1957.

6. The participant must be the same person who has conceptualized the tagline. Plagiarism of any nature would not be allowed.
7. Anyone found infringing on others’ copyright would be disqualified from the contest. IRCTC does not bear any responsibility for copyright violations or infringements of intellectual property carried out by the participants.

All entries are governed by the provisions of Logos and Names (Prevention of Improper Use) Act, ‘1950 and any violation of the said Act will result in disqualification.
8. The employees of IRCTC as well as their family members are not allowed to take part in this contest.

9. Participant is to make sure that his/her Profile is accurate and updated within MyGov, as we, the “contest organizers” (i.e. IRCTC) may use the information on the profile for further communication. This includes participant name, photo, country declaration, email ID, phone number, postal address, etc.

Entries by those with incomplete profiles may be rejected. Contest organizers may also ask participants for any profile-related details or further information. Entries with incomplete profiles would not be considered.

10. IRCTC reserves the right to cancel or amend all or any part of this Contest and/ or the Terms & Conditions. However, any changes to the Terms & Conditions/ Technical Parameters/ Evaluation Criteria, or cancellation of the Contest, will be updated/ posted on the MyGov platform. It would be the responsibility of the participants to keep themselves informed as to any changes in the Terms & Conditions stated for this contest.

11. By registering for participation in the Contest, the Participant(s) warrant that
:
a. They have complied with these terms and conditions;
b. Their tagline is original;
c. Their entry does not infringe any Intellectual Property Rights of any third party;
d. Any current employer and/or learning institution that the participant is employed by or enrolled with would have no claim on the tagline submitted.

12. IRCTC reserves the right to reject any entry based on its discretion.
13. IRCTC accepts no responsibility for any damage, loss or injury of any kind suffered by any participants in entering the Contest, including as a result of any participant winning or not winning any prize.
14. IRCTC will not be held responsible if the participants are not able to upload their entries on MyGov portal before the last date & time of submission for any reason whatsoever.

15. Entries must be made by the closing date and in the manner set out in the Contest terms and conditions. Failure to do so will result in disqualification.
16. Multiple submissions of entries by the same participant would not be considered.

Technical Parameters

1. Tagline entries must be either in English or Hindi.
2. Tagline entries must be short; preferably 3 to 5 words, but not more than 7 to 8 words at the maximum.
3. Taglines may either be entered directly in the ‘SUBMIT YOUR TASK’ text box (Comments box) with the heading “TAGLINE:”, or may be uploaded, preferably in PDF format.

4. Tagline entries will be assessed on the following parameters :
i. Whether the number of words in the tagline is within the word limit, and whether the language used is as prescribed for the contest.
ii. Whether the tagline is original (not plagiarised).
iii. Whether the tagline is free of any provocative, objectionable or inappropriate content/ interpretation.
iv. Whether the tagline depicts the theme/ concept of IRCTC in totality, i.e., without any additional information, i.e. on its own
v. Whether the tagline can stand the test of time, and not become outdated/ irrelevant in the near future

Selection Process

1. All the entries received by IRCTC would be assessed for awards by Screening Committee for an initial evaluation. After such screening, all approved entries would be assessed by a Selection Committee for final evaluation.
2. Entries would be judged on the basis of elements of creativity, originality, composition, technical excellence, simplicity, artistic merit and visual impact and how well they communicate profile of IRCTC.

3. The decision of the Selection Committee would be final and binding on all the contestants and no clarifications would be issued to any participants or any decision of Selection Committee.
4. IRCTC shall not use the disqualified entries for any purpose and IRCTC shall have no intellectual rights over the same.
5. Any legal proceedings arising out of the contest/ its entries/ winners shall be subject to local jurisdiction of state of Delhi.
