What is Manipal Marathon?

The Manipal Marathon is an annual running event that takes place in Manipal of Udupi District and is organized by the Manipal Academy of Higher Education in collaboration with the Udupi District Amateur Athletic Association. It stands as the largest student-organized marathon in the country, having successfully attracted runners from around the world in the past five editions. With approximately 10,000 participants, the Manipal Marathon offers a grand carnival celebration after the run and offers substantial prize money to its winners. The race routes guide runners through the stunning landscapes of Manipal and the Udupi coastline, boasting international certification from the IAAF AIMS.

Tagline of Manipal Marathon

For its upcoming 6th edition, the Manipal Marathon has a noble goal in mind. It aims to raise awareness for “Hospice” palliative care, carrying the meaningful tagline “We are with you all the way.” This edition promises not only a thrilling race but also an opportunity to support and learn about an essential cause in the field of healthcare.

Categories of Manipal Marathon

Manipal Marathon is an annual marathon, which is held in the scenic town of Manipal. Manipal Marathon provides its runners, an ultimate road running experience by giving the runners a breathtaking journey through the hilly terrain of Manipal and Udupi. Soon will be the sixth iteration of the event, and since the first edition, the enthusiasm of Manipalites has grown leaps and bounds.

Unlike any other marathon, Manipal marathon is a completely student led event. The aim of the marathon is to celebrate the joy of running and help inculcate it among students, who shall be the future pioneers of their respective fields and give talented individuals a platform to showcase their abilities.

The various categories, being full marathon (42.195k), half marathon (21.098k), 10k, 5k and 3k have been carefully devised in order to fit into every runner’s capability, be it a beginner or a professional.

Terms & Conditions of Manipal Marathon

Disclaimer:By registering for Manipal Marathon 2023, I here by certify that I am physically fit and healthy to take part in this event. I shall follow all the Covid guidelines and take all precautions to contain the spread of Covid during the event.

I fully understand the risk associated in participating in this event. I will be running with my own free will and consent and will not hold the organizers responsible in the case of any mishap.

NOTE:
** The event is subject to prevailing Covid conditions and protocols issued by the Government in the second week of February, 2023
** In case of postponement/cancellation of the event, the registration charges will be adjusted / refunded.
** Mandatory: Identity card and certificate of two doses of vaccination taken, has to be produced during bib collection at Manipal.
** Organizers shall not make any arrangements for quarantine or Rtpcr test.
