Pratibha Classical Dance Competition:

** Our aim is to promote young talent in classical dances of our country and give a healthy platform to the young generation. The main idea behind this festival is to bring together talent from the age of 7 to 25 on one platform where their talent in different classical dances can be judged and encouraged.

Competition Dates Feb 13 & 14, 2016 Aurangabad

** The competition is an important part of Samskriti international dance festival in Aurangabad, to give young aspirants a fair opportunity to showcase and to unearth new talents, let them be judged in several categories by the best of the eminent Gurus and learned artistes of each category, especially in Indian classical dance forms.

** New and deserving talent is given recognition at a ceremonial prize distribution, where they receive awards, both trophies & cash mementoes. Above all, our prize winners are offered the unique opportunity to perform on stage, later in the year, in front of an audience, during our International dance day celebrations in April & other prestigious festivals in Aurangabad in future.

** Participants will get participation certificate & award for 1st, 2nd & 3rd prizes along with cash prizes in all categories. In February 2016, Aurangabad, Register now for classical dances -solo, duet and group (minimum 5 & maximum 12)

Age Categories:
** Junior 7 – 12
** Middle 13 – 18
** Seniors 19 – 25

Registration fee:
Juniors: solo – 300/- duet 500/- & group (minimum 5 & maximum 8 participants) – 1000/-
Middle: solo – 500/- duet 700/- & group (minimum 5 & maximum 8 participants) – 1200/-
Senior: solo – 700/- duet 900/- & group (minimum 5 & maximum 8 participants) – 1500/-

Time given for each category:
Junior solo – 5 mts, Duet – 7 mts, Group – 10 mts
Middle solo – 7 mts, Duet – 9 mts, Group – 12 mts
Senior solo – 9 mts, Duet – 12 mts, Group – 15 mts

Competition date:
1. 13th February 2016 (Saturday)
Timings: 1.30 to 4pm for juniors, (all categories) 4 to 6. 30pm for middle (all categories)

2. 14th February (Sunday) 3 to 6.30pm for seniors (all categories)
Reporting time: 30 mts before the event

Rules And Regulations:
Please read the Rules & Regulations carefully before filling the Application Form.
1. These Competitions are open to amateurs only. Minimum of two years training in any classical dance is required for entry in junior group and 3 years of training for middle and senior groups
2. Competitors must be present at least 30 minutes before the time stated for their performance
3. No boarding, lodging, train fare, conveyance or any other charges will be paid to the competitors or their accompanists. Refreshments will be given to competitors
4. The decision of the appointed judges will be final and legally binding on the Competitors. Results will be announced after the competition in the evening during the proceedings of 6th International Dance Festival, Samskriti – a festival of classical dances.
5. Recorded music is permitted. Music system, lights in the auditorium will be provided
6. Right of admission reserved.
7. The judges will have the prerogative to ask any Competitor to stop before the time, if in their opinion the Competitor is not up to the standard.
8. A Competitor can take part in only two events of the competitions but each entry will have to be on a separate official entry form along with necessary entry fee for each item.
9. Film music in any item in any form is not permitted. Performance must adhere strictly to classical dance format and technique.
10. Competitors will be disqualified if found speaking to the judges or asking their friends to do the same.

11. Photography & video recording is strictly prohibited during the competition. Video cds/ dvds and soft copy of photographs will be made available for sale from the festival’s official photographer after the performance or will be couriered within a week’s time after the festival upon payment.

12. On the day of the competition, Competitors will have to produce proof of age along with hard copy of application form and competition fee receipt/proof. Soft copy of application form can be sent by email before the last date of registration 25th January 2016

13. Registration must be also paid by cash, money order and demand draft/cheque in the favour of Devmudraa a movement school before 25th January 2016 to be sent to the above address.
14. Only the first 40 entries will be accepted in each group. In case the entries exceed the manageable limits, the organizers reserve the right to stop accepting entry forms, even before the final date of acceptance
15. A maximum of 20 applicants in total only per Guru/Institution/school shall be permitted in the competition of all categories of competition. (Including solo, duet, and group).

16. Performance must have both nritya (expression) and nritta (pure dance) for middle and senior levels. Participants of middle & senior category must have knowledge about their dance form, their presentation and raga and tala. For juniors, it’s their choice, only the presentation and technique will be judged. Performers must wear traditional dance costumes only.

17. Special sightseeing packages can be arranged the next day and all assistance in providing economic clean and safe accommodation in hotels can be given if needed, the participants have to borne the expenses.
18. Good opportunity for all the participants to witness stellar performances and interact with all eminent artistes performing in the two day festival.
19. All the participants will get participation certificates and first three winners of all categories will be given awards and cash prizes
20. All the competitors, their guardians and audience will maintain the decorum of the classical dance festival.
